My spring break coincided with the Winter Music Conference so there were different things to do all week. A few nights ago I saw The Glass and The Go! Team at a Vice Magazine party in South Beach. I was definitely the youngest person there, flotsam in a sea of fashionistas, models, and persons aged to perfection. I went by myself + had a good time. Sergio joined me afterward and we tried to look for something to do that night. First we tried a block party that had been advertised, but that turned out to be really lame, so we went to a club that turned out to be even lamer. I did see about 400 New College students that night--incredible, I know, since there are only 650--which was nice. The next night I went out solo again to see Cut Copy + Radio 4, and they were both really good. I got there too late to catch James Murphy DJ + couldn't stick around long enough for Mylo since I didn't really like the music that was being played. I think I saw Larry Tee while I was there.

A few days ago I went to a late night diner with my friend Edwith and she told me about this thing somebody told her once. The girl said "You're like a nice black person. You're approachable. It's like, it doesn't seem like slavery had as much of a toll on you as it did on other people." I would have punched her.

Last night I went out to dinner with some friends to a place in Sunny Isles called Madames. Their gimmick is that the entire wait staff is made up of drag queens (ours). There were several performances throughout the night + they were not strict with their alcohol. Afterward, Beth gave us a tour of the place where she works as a funeral director/embalmer. Sarah, Andrew and I then went for some ice cream and watched a movie. I am doing laundry now and delaying the drive back to Sarasota for as long as I can continue to justify it to myself.

Today is Easter (Palm Sunday?). My dad and his girlfriend went to Venezuela to spend the holidays with his family and go to a soccer match. He left me some money, though, so I can't really consider this a total abandonment. My sister is not talking to me for some crap reason.
