Pup woke up this morning and jumped on to my bed. She's been very quiet and sleepy ever since she got home. I'm hoping she'll start to get back to normal today, and be full of energy like usual within a few days. Although the painkillers and antibiotics she's on may delay her energetic recovery.
This morning when she jumped on my bed she stretched out along side me and fell asleep in my arms.
After Will went to work her tummy started making these really loud gurgling noises, and Daisy started whining. I decided to take her outside to go to the toilet, and then remembered that it was time for her medicine.
When she got outside she walked around a bit like she was looking for something, but then she found it! A few bits of long grass that had not been mown, and she ate it. She walked around the whole yard looking for long grass to eat.
I've heard from heaps of different people including vets and vet students that dogs eat grass when their tummies hurt because it helps them to throw up, which then makes them feel better. I've also heard that that grass can naturalise their stomach acids and the dew helps to rehydrate them. So it all sounds pretty good to me. As long as she doesn't now throw up her medicine.
Once again like most mornings this week/on the weekend, Daisy and I are sitting on the outside couch in the sun while I drink my coffee. Daisy doesn't usually sit with me, she usually keeps bringing me toys to throw for her which is always fun, but this is nice too.
You can see Daisy's bandaged leg in the shadow. They shaved her opposite front paw aswel for vaccination injections. She's hot and tired, but happy. <3
