I'm downloading the mix - I've got some Clash stuff and have tried really hard to make myself get into them, but it's never worked for me. Maybe I just haven't heard the right song yet.
They're one of my favourite bands ever ever, and they influenced three of my favourite bands so much too (the Libs, the Manics and Rancid). I love them and am very willing to give you a track by track rundown ;)
I knew they were a big influence on the Libs, and that's why I started listening to them in the first place - I hadn't heard most of the bands that influenced the Libs, the Clash included. I don't hate them or anything, I've just never fallen in love with the music. I'd say London Calling is probably my favorite of the ones I know. I'll keep trying!
That's fair enough. My favourites, for your reference, are Lost In The Supermarket, Death or Glory, Guns of Brixton, This Is Radio Clash and Police On My Back. Probably.
Have you heard Lethal Bizzle doing a rap which heavily samples Police On My Back? Well, it sort of is that song with more rapping over the top. S'very good.
Sorry for just randomly butting in there... *whistles*
I have that song! It's the "video where Drew was beaten up and it was disturbingly hot" song. I like that one! I didn't know it was a Clash song originally.

Well I believe in this and it's been tested by research/He who fucks nuns will later join the church - Death or Glory
And Police On My Back was sampled by Lethal Bizzle last year and DREW WAS IN THE VIDEO BEING HOT.
