First thing I saw when I got to the main street :D (and there were a few more and couple really long streets like that)
My stupid dictionary says it's translated to palm @.@ well these things are now pretty, but in the past they used branches of trees which started waking up from winter sleep the earliest, these palms are sanctified on Sunday one week before Easter, which is believed to bring health to people and animals, protects home from all kinds of bad things (including protection from being hit by lightning XD) and so on...
What can I say, kid was cute :D
Besides the funny looking guy the funny thing was written on the piece of paper between those "bee nests", words would be translated as "Home without (bank's) interest"
Guy in the steam is stirring some food (not sure what it was, but must have been really good, because queue was reaaaally long @.@)
Fair is best place to get wicker stuff :)
Yeah, lots and lots of people :D I started my journey from the street behind the clock tower
Just some fun felt wool shoes/socks, must be really warm :3
Cooooookies
People buying cooookies and other tasty stuff :) it seems in the fair you can bargain XD if you blink nicely with your eyes, you might get a nice discount
Yeah, more cookies XD
Very nice chairs, some had really pretty drawings on them *_* those people are so talented
This is also normal, to buy hand colored eggs and use them as decorations on Easter :) not sure if these were real eggs just empty inside or made of wood, one can find both kinds. Even though some eggs look similar each is unique.
One could try weaving the old way :) I bet it takes forever to make just a small blanket or carpet :D
Wonder if by the third day there will be no yarn left @.@
This is so very classic, used to make them too when I was a kid :) one usually hangs them on branches of trees brought home which usually start getting green by Easter
Just thought it was a fun way to advertise your handmade brooch
Don't ask XD some people make weird art
Matches with names, found one with mine, but it was lower and didn't get into the picture.
Pieces of HUGE bread. I bought a piece :P very very nice bread :)
Making something like that must be a lot of work @.@ and this woman used parts of real roses, the spikes are real and everything XD
My friend enjoying a cup of hot chocolate :3 well we shared it XD~ luckyyy. Very tasty. Since it's cold outside by the time we got to the bottom it was already impossible to stir it :)
These mushrooms are also inseparable part of this fair :) if one goes "Kaziukas fair \^.^/" someone else would go "Mushroooms XD~"
I bet a lot of people wanted to eat that thing XD
Wooden buckets are meant for making sauerkraut
There was some old fashion entertainment as well XD actually whole main street was full of sounds :) this was at the end of one of the streets
And now onto what I got :P~
By the time I got to taking pics a lot of it was gone ^^; the bagel thingy on top was so big it could fit over my head :D
Loved the alien looking flowerpot so had to get it XD and the super tiny thing on the right is well... I love tiny things XD that thing is no taller than 2cms ^^; not kidding
That's my treat after dinner XD~
Heart is really crispy while mushrooms are very soft inside, it's like a sponge-cake.
p.s. fair started Friday and will end Sunday :) pity that today (Saturday) I missed the special walk of all kinds of craftsmen across the main street, met someone who did, said it was great o>.
