foster a deep and loving relationship with your albums, friends.

there's too much over-consumption with music these days; things have become so accessible that you can suddenly have 10 new albums at your fingertips in an instant, and our A.D.D generation skips between them rapidly, with the modern youth trend of knowing lots of music but not in any degree of detail or with any significant passion.

i always found myself limiting the number of new things i explore at once, and this has somewhat gotten away from me lately, and i'm realizing now again the extreme joy i do get from delving deeper and deeper within one thing for a while, one album.

it's like savouring the flavour of some fine wine or delicious meal; surely no-one would deny the point in that- why should the arts be any different. recently it's been mostly due to a limited number of cds in my car, but the result has been one album for a few weeks, and an appropriately long amount of time spent looping songs, and digging into it slowly. (i'm currently about halfway.) much better.
