About that spider pic from yesterday...

So I did like mordyn4 suggested, and I posted the picture of the spider from yesterday's post on spiderphotos. They were very friendly and incredibly enthusiastic (one person said the picture is "super cool"), and they told me that the spider (I'm going to call it Betty from now on :P) was a female wolf spider, and that those things on her back are her babies. Yes, ( Read more... )

URGH. Babies. Yuck.

Yeah, I figured they had them where I live, since Australia has all that sort of thing. =D

Yes, but you have even worse things over there, don't you? :O This one is probably one of the nicer spiders you have there. :P

Among thr more interesting things I've found in the bathroom are a lizard and a scorpion. No one believed me about the scorpion, so when I saw another one I kept it to show people. They're really only about an inch long but still very definitely a scorpion. I mean, it's not like scorpions really look like anything else.

I haven't encountered a spider to nasty as that one yet. I've seen on as big as m hand, but it wasn't a too dangerous type.

We have scorpions in Slovenia too! The first time I saw one I was like :O!!! I don't think they're that dangerous though. Their sting is probably like a sting of a wasp.

when I saw another one I kept it to show people.

Were you able to keep it alive? When we caught one it died really quickly (a few hours). It stung itself, I think. :/

OMG!!!! O_O What does it eat? Birds and small dogs??? :O

I know, cos you only ever really think about those really huge ones in the desert.

No, dead. I stood on it instead of sraing it with that stuff that makes them crawl around in agony for ages. But I stood on it carefully so it wouldn't squish out of shape.

Suidical Scorpoins? Sound like a band. =D

I have no idea. As long as it wasn't eating my toes, that's all I was worried about.

He do you get those huge ants? Bull ants and fire ants? They're like just about an inch long! They're massive.

No, no huge ants. Just the smaller ones. They're still just as icky and annoying though. :/
