days off
i did manage to have a couple of days off just in time. I really do think i was about to snap. It actually turned out that i had 6 days off in a row...but as i do things others cant i couldnt actually have them all off. may have spent an actual day where i wasnt obsessing about work.
So i said i would come in today to do some reports and head out, then megan my afternoon boss was like "great you are here! i really need your help" and my morning boss was "what do you mean you want to leave...i scheduled you till 5pm". oh and the 4-5 shift downstairs at the front desk where you wont be running any reports even though you didnt quite finish and as a result not all will be sent.
You may ask why i answered my phone on day 1 of a 6 day vacation. I didnt. they sent suzette to my house to check on me cause i didnt answer the phone.
The first couple of days i tried to decompress. may have partially suceeded. You know it's bad when you are trying to go to sleep and thinking happy thoughts and you realize your fists are clenched, your shoulders are clenched...and these are with the happy thoughts.
We finally got to go see tristan this weekend, the first time since the car caught fire in april. he was quite happy to see us and had gotten a new mohawk for the occasion. pictures may be forthcoming if i can figure out where to scan them in.
got about 10 more boxes put away. not a lot, but not a few. i dare anyone to walk into the house and wonder why i havent done more...i kill you. and dont tell me to tell victoria to do more cause i dont want anyone poking through my stuff. not even my daughter.
I also tend to get distracted by the things that are in the boxes, and you then realize it took you an hour to put away that particular box. and typically enough, i dont have enough bookshelf space. i can use one more (at least). i may soon have enough space cleared to set up tristans kitchen table and make it look like a real house.
still can't get the tivo to work, or xbox live. played Greenday rockband for a couple of hours...that helped with some stress. another reason why this house is great. we had that thing cranked and we didnt have to worry about the people upstairs or in the next room. w00t.
but that also means when tristan moves out i will have to buy an xbox of my own so i can continue to play.
