There's a light

up ahead to Frankenstein Place at the end of the ear canal/throat/sinuses!

So I called my PCP. They have a 2-week wait on new patients. Screw that.
Called the office that the GOOD pediatrician was at this morning (not the one 10 minutes from the house, but the one 20 minutes away. 'Sokay, I'll drive for this guy). Got a 9:15 appointment.

He comes in and says, how many times have I seen you in the last month? (Answer: 4 or 5.) I say it's time to see an ENT. He readily and heartily agrees. He gets the nurse to get the other office to fax over the file. Evidently the xrays (Friday week ago) showed that not only were the sinuses infected, they were VERY infected. He looks at the ears: both infected. He looks at the throat: red, raw and with "huge" tonsils. He calls the ENT at the children's hospital in Jax and says we'll be calling later in the day.

Now, the antibiotic Victor's on is the next-next best treatment. The next best is the stuff he's allergic to. The best is: a 3-day shot series. So shot 1 today, shot 2 tomorrow and shot 3 Wednesday. That should keep him until Tuesday next week, when we see the ENT.

So gyngerfox was on the right track with her experience with her daughter. At a minimum, it'll be ear tubes. Most likely, it'll be tubes in and adenoids out. Worst case, it'll be tubes in, adenoids and tonsils out.

whee...
