Now I am really dreading why I didn't go off-island.
Most of my summer time has been spent helping this organization I'm in (the GMSJC) to ammend this bill called the Access to Medical Training and Education Act, or AMTE for short. Basically, it should give guidance and support to undergraduate students of my university who are very interested in going to medical school, and also to provide financial support for medical students who are also very interested in coming back to the island of Guam to work. Everything was okay at first, because what we mostly do was meet up just to change the language of the bill and to get initial support from the proper authorities. It was all good because the president and vice-president of the University were here and we met up with them, and the Financial Aid Office personnel were also here helping us make good amendments, and then there were lots of us in the organization so a good exchange of ideas was there, and also the important medical personnel, doctors were easily contacted when needed.
But now everyone's gone. Most of those people are off-island right now. The important people that are needed for an upcoming event are very hard to contact. You see, the bill needs to be brought up on a public hearing, and it happens in eight days. Eight days?! And the off-island people are really needed to be here, so that they could give testimonials and provide support for our organization's undertaking. Now, the only ones left here in our organization who were working on the bill from the start are me and Dayna. On the public hearing, we need to give our own testimonials, and wow right now, I'm just very stressed by that fact. Ai, I don't want this thing to fail, 'cause Dayna was right with what she said, for if this thing were to fail, it would somehow become our fault that it did. But then again, who would account for the fact that the people needed are gonna be away at the time when they are actually needed?
I'm sorry for ranting, for the fact that I've not updated here awhile and I moaned... Well, there's eight days left, and Dayna and I just got to hustle and get ready. Oh...
Anyways, Belated Happy Birthday, Amber! And yesterday was also the first year anniversary of HBP's release. =)
Peace. ^_^
