One Month?!

Woah woah. Did I not update that long... again? Ai adai, I thought I would not be doing the same thing this semester. Meep. To bring everyone up to date with whatever has been going on in my life:Tagged
1. Thank the person who tagged you. Kellie! Thanks for the opportunity. =)
2. List five random/strange/weird things about you.
  • I haven't seen snow yet.
  • As a kid, I count by eights when I walked. And I don't step on the lines of the sidewalk.
  • I pretty much know the lyrics of the theme song of Voltes V.
  • I hate the smell of raw radish.
  • My high school was non-sectarian, but we still do the Mysteries of the Rosary everyday.
3. Tag four or five other people. Well, whoever's willing to do this.Out and About
From February 19-25, I've been to that strip of land in Tumon called Blue Lagoon Plaza three times. On the 19th, my family and I ate at Mekong Restaurant. The buffet's quite good, and economical. Plus we saw Mrs. Mortera-Hecita there. She's a local TV news personality. I would have to say that she looks better in person. The camera is doing something to her appearance on TV. And then on the morning of the 25th, I stood at the front of Fuji Ichiban giving out water. I volunteered for the GMS 5K Run/Walk, and was assigned at the water stop. It was fun doing that. Although I'm not quite sure why I didn't see my church's minister pass in front of me. I knew that he joined the competition. Well, it must be when I had my back on the runners, as I was getting cups of water to give to them. Anyways, it would be fun joining a Run/Walk. I wanted to join the one sponsored by Payless supermarts yesterday. Then again, I'm not yet prepared. And those events are so damn early!

My third appearance was actually a day earlier. But then chronological order doesn't really matter, yes? It was the Friday Food Trip with me, Marilie, John, Elissa and Mika. Our destination: Aji Ichi. My order wasn't really hardcore Japanese food. It was the lunch special, actually. But then I still got to taste the restaurant's tempura, california rolls, and unagi. Delicioso. And so that was the 24th. On the 3rd of March, we ate at the mall's food court. Seafood and Vegetables is the best. Last week Friday, we were once again at Simply Foods. Although Mika wasn't with us, instead it was Shayna and Denille who accompanied us. Shayna had to bring her own car because her parents do not like her riding other people's car. So I rode with her and Denille to the restaurant while the other three were in Marilie's car. Shayna's car is sweet; it is a Scion tC. It's nice how from the backseat area, you can put your hands into a flap panel and get some stuff from the trunk. It was kinda like a box where you put your hand inside to get something, without knowing what you might get. Lastly, this Friday, it was the five of us again (first part of this paragraph) and we went to Jamaican Grill. The food there was good; if only I had more cash on me at that time. Their Jamaican rice, or dirty rice as Marilie calls it, tasted like biko to me. To contrast, biko is sticky rice with coconut milk and brown sugar, while the Jamaican rice had red mung beans. Hmm, there must be some connection between coconut milk and mung beans.School Me
This past month I had two Biology exams, one Chemistry exam, one Calculus exam, one Literature exam plus a research paper. Whew. Glad those were over with, but I still have a lot in store, with half of the semester left. My Biology projects are doing mighty well. The offsprings of the parent Drosophila have hatched, so now I'm on stage two of the experiment. Almost done; I have now gotten sick of the food media and the flynap smell. As for my ecology project, my partner for this is John, and we have only done preliminary investigations of the area we're studying. We should definitely come back by next week. As for Chemistry, our exam was actually take home, which was nice. But then I didn't study much the scope of it, so I believe that I won't be receiving a good grade for it. I'm so pathetic. I've been slacking off this course. I need to refocus myself and do good. My professor has high expectations for me, you know. So after my update, I should get to finishing my Chemisty homework, and reading critically the chapters I couldn't understand well. Ai, acids and bases.Charter Day
This happened last Tuesday. It commemorates the foundation of the University of Guam. It was fun, as well as hectic for me, because I was a member of the Bio Club. The night before, I helped set up the displays in the Biology Lab, which included genetic oddities in jars, internal organs and dissected animals drenched in formaline, boring plants, and scientific models. After that, we headed over to the Field House for Triton Night, but nothing was happening at the time we went. The festivities, including free food, happened after we left. Meh.

And then at the day of the event, I wore my Bio Club shirt. I looked spiffy, yes. Although I think the front side of the shirt lacked a quoted phrase. I'll take a picture of it after it comes down from the clothesline. Anyways, my club sold chicken kebobs, much like every other organization there who had to sell something. I didn't help out much though, with the cooking and the selling, even if I'm one of the few people who can. Only those with health certificates can do anything, which I found stupid because most of the people who were issued health certificates for that day didn't even go through the usual process of getting one. Pfft. Money matters. So what I did most of the time was walk around looking at the other booths, and eat. Fun, fun. I only attended one of the CLASS presentations, unlike last year when I attended three. Then again that time it was for extra credit, this year it was to show support to a friend. The first presentor, my former Anthropology professor, bored us for one hour, when the presentation that I actually wanted to see only lasted less than 20 minutes. Nonetheless, is all good. Anthropology is still a fascinating science to me.Belated Happy St. Patrick's Day
And that's it for one month's worth of updates. Hopefully, next update wouldn't be for another month again. Wish you all are in good health. Take care always. Peace out. ^_^
