Blizzard over
After all the hoopla, we only ended up with a little over a foot of snow, but some honking drifts! The dsl went down yesterday afternoon, but came back up this morning already-amazing. Other than that, we both stayed home & off the roads, so all is well.
I can't believe how many people were actually out driving yesterday. The news said more than 100 cars had gone off the road and gotten stuck, then the people were abandoning them and walking. How crazy is that!
We live right off the Bay of Green Bay, where a lot of people go ice fishing. Yesterday, 2 guys went out on the bay in their truck to fish, and lost their bearings and couldn't get back to shore. Fortunately, they had cell phones with them, so the rescue people were able to use some sort of gps tracking to find them and get them off safely. It happens every year, I don't get it.
