Holy shit why is it the twentieth I don't wanna wrap presents. It's not horrible or anything, so that's good at least ( Read more... )

i don't get shipping/fandom wars, either. SOME PEOPLE NEED A LIFE >:( i mean, obviously, i have my preferred ships, but... for people to get THAT invested and that personal? i'm with you bb, it's just weirddd, but i think some people just want to stir up drama for its own sake, really.

sorry your family is being fail :( at least you have family to spend the holidays with!

though, on the topic of OTPs, i do have those... though idk if they're so much OTPs as preferred ships? like, for the animorphs, i obviously OTP rachel/tobias, but as you can probably tell, i'm not a crazy fangirl over them either and can like rachel/marco or even, shit, marco/tobias just fine.

...i'm probably doing the OTP thing wrong, lolll.

Oh oh, I love the shippers who always hate the author forevers!! and think they're so horrible if they don't write their ship, too. Like, wow. What's wrong with just enjoying your ship like a normal person! I'm perfectly fine with just enjoying my handful of OTPs and crack ones even if they aren't canon. People are just...strange.

Marco/Tobias honestly hurts my head. I'm not sure why.

YOU AREN'T ANGRY ENOUGH ABOUT YOUR OTP, OF COURSE YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG. WHERE'S THE PASSION?!

H-ha, uh, I don't think anyone would want to spend the holidays with my family. ]: Nothing like being ignored or laughed at while you're crying!!! Oh well, maybe by Christmas Eve things will be better >__>

and LOL, IKR, especially the HP fandom. oh god, the lily!haters always crack me up... though i can kind of sympathize with the ginny ones because ginny always seemed like kind of a bitch. /coughs

with me, as long as it's well-written (and not, you know, disgusting, like ash/pikachu in a decidedly non-cracky way or some shit), i'm good :D

AND FINE OMG BELLA/EDWARD SPARKLES FOREVER EW JACOB IS A STINKY WEREWOLF HE SHOULD BE SHOT SO BELLA/EDWARD CAN LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER IN CREEPY ASS VAMPIRE MANSIONS TOGETHER LIKE MORTICIA AND GOMEZ ADDAMS.

satisfied?

and whaaaaaaaaat, dude, that sucks. laughing? i mean, i've been ignored, but i can't imagine my parents laughing at me when i was crying. that is just cru-ELLL.

OH GOD THE LILY HATERS I loooove reading about those people who think Snape is amazing and a wonderful person (despite, you know, how he abuses children and is an unsufferable jerk and OH YEAH HE IS A DEATH EATER) and Lily is such a bitch for, uh, marrying James because she thought Snape was turning into an asshole. They have so many pathetic excuses for why Snape is so awesome and amazing and can do no wrong...it's almost beautiful.

I liked Ginny until after the fifth book. Then in the sixth and seventh book she was pretty much just all about the Harry Potter and I was very sad. I want the Ginny who learns hexes from her twin brothers and is cool and awesome again. ): Although haaa most people who don't like Ginny started to dislike her in the fifth book methinks. I also kind of liked her with Neville, sob. Ginny/Harry just seems really forced and tacked on. AT LEAST HERMIONE/RON IS AWESOME.

...NEEDS MOAR SPARKLES.

I think I had a dream last night where some Twilight fangirl was shoving the New Moon poster in my face and declaring ( ... )

IT REALLY IS. and makes me wonder about my own sex, wtf. i mean, i don't hate snape - i think he's a compelling character for sure, but he really *is* a slimy git... and while i can't pretend i ~*~love~*~ lily either, the fact is just that we don't get to see that much of her so i'm refraining from making a judgement. but the snape!worship has always freaked me out ( ... )

Yeah, uh, I like Snape in the sense that I think he was a well written character...and that's it. In real life? He'd be utterly revolting. HE DOES NOT ACTUALLY LOOK LIKE ALAN RICKMAN, PEOPLE. I'm pretty neutral about Lily myself since, yeah, we really don't know much about her. Especially since anyone who talks about Harry Potter's parents has to glamorize them: they were so great and wonderful and brave and nice! James and Sirius were such cute kids in school! James and Lily were complete and utter soul mates and would have made such a beautiful family! HARRY IS AN UNRELIABLE NARRATOR. You can't really judge a lot of the minor characters like Lily ( ... )

LOL no kidding. and... i mean, i love alan rickman and all, but even alan rickman is not all that attractive, just really, really cool.

i do think people always talk about the deceased more kindly - i like that jkr at least sort of subverted our assumptions with james, so at least we got the sense they weren't the all-out heroes everybody thought they were. but YEAH, harry = probably the most biased person alive, though i can't say i blame him.

...well, twilight is about ~*~sacred blood~*~, sort of, lol. i've had actual english majors compare whatsherface to shakespeare. it makes me weep.

PRESENTS MAKE EVERYTHING BETTER ♥

I can sort of see why someone would consider Alan Rickman attractive, but he's simply not my type so... *dies*

I really liked Snape's Worst Memory showing that James is kind of a dick too! Even though I still actually like James in the end, unlike uh. Everyone else who read that. *dies* But it was interesting seeing Harry freak out after he saw his dad act like that, and he had to whine about it to Remus (...was Sirius there too?) to feel better about it. James and Lily did pretty awesome things in the Order but, in the end, they are human.

...Well I'm not that surprised since I know Smeyer herself thinks her work is better than Emily Brönte (Wuthering Heights author?) and Jane Austin but...wow, Shakespeare. That's special.

THEY DO MAKE EVERYTHING BETTER. ♥ H-Hey, I like giving too. But receiving is nice, I like feeling loved :B

yeah, he has a great force of personality - i do think he's attractive in another sense, though not... you know, necessarily in the way fangirls see him, but i'll never figure out the way hp!movie!fangirls' brains work. the boys are fug.

and LOL, yeah, i don't love either james or snape, though i do like that jkr actually gave james LAYERS. but harry is just super whiny in the book - i mean, you can't blame him, but still. he's just, SUPER WHINY.

...AND WTF, SERIOUSLY, WHERE DID SHE SAY THAT.

EXACTLY :) i like shiny things. giving is nice but getting is... sometimes... nicer.

Harry IS whiny, oh geez. The last few books are pretty annoying because of that...I mean, yeah, he has many excuses to whine, plus he's a teenager so that's even more of an excuse...but that doesn't mean I have to say I enjoy it~~

I'M NOT SHITTING YOU she said on her website something about how Edward and Bella were such a brilliant couple, that the couples in Withering Heights and Jane Austin books just couldn't compare. I can't say 100% for certain that she said out right that the Twilight series is better than Jane Austin and Wuthering Heights, but it is at least heavily implied that that's what she thinks. SMEYER IS SPECIAL, OKAY.

Between that and the stupidity that is Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Jane Austin is probably rolling in her grave right now.

i thought 5 + 6 were quite terrible, but he got a lot better than 7, like he had mostly moved past it all. i know a lot of people didn't like DH, but barring the epilogue, i actually enjoyed the fact that harry finally seemed to have grown a sense of maturity.

...and WHAT? WHAT? wow, i didn't even THINK my opinion of that woman could even dip lower, and it just did.

BUT NGL, i think pride and prejudice with zombies was kind of cool. i'm not a huge austen fan to begin with though, so, meh.

...Okay, yeah, you're right, he was a lot more mature in the seventh books considering. I only read that one once so, uh, yeah. *dies* I actually liked DH (certainly more than the sixth book oh geeeeez) and didn't mind the epilogue, though I can sort of understand that some people think it didn't fit well, purely writing wise, with the rest of the book. You can't please everyone, though.

Yeeeeeah Smeyer is fail all over and then some.

To be fair, the idea with the zombies and stuff was sort of funny but everyone was going on and on about how AWESOME it was and how it was a billion times better than the piece of shit that is the original and...no. Just, no. You don't have to like the original, but to say that...and that's all I saw people say, so I kind of grew to hate it. >__> Plus I heard the writing wasn't even that great in it? But, whatever, I'm sure it's fine. I'm currently mad at it again, after kind of getting over it, because THEY ANNOUNCED A FUCKING MOVIE FOR IT fffffffffff 8| I hope they try to hire Collin Firth to play ( ... )

the sixth was just terrible, in my eyes - my second least favourite out of the bunch. i thought the fifth was well done, but just annoying as fuck because harry kept CAPSLOCKING EVERYWHERE... and the epilogue of the 7th is so dead to me, haha. i mean, serious;ly, SCORPIUS? WTF?

you haven't read the book? i certainly disagree that it was 'better' than the original, but i can appreciate it for what it was - sort of a playful reimagination. it's like AU!zombie fanfic, really, and it's not bad (i can see why they'd want to make it into a movie), but i really do hope people are simply being hyperbolic when they say shit like that.

(and haha, colin firth IS totally darcy, and i love that he plays the guy with a lot of humour.)

Ugh, yes, I didn't like the sixth book. At least the movie made the Dumbledore scenes pretty awesome though it failed epically at the Half Blood Prince stuff, the ONLY PART I LIKED IN THE BOOK DX and the fifth one...well, I have issues all over! And Umbridge is a brilliant character, but maaaaan do I hate her. I guess she's one I love to hate, except rereading the fifth book was always such a chore...I think I only fully completed it once. (And I honestly still don't know what I think of the forth book. I've reread it many times and I still don't know--but I know I'm always surprised to see that it's many people's favourite books. I can never understand why. I might just be because I really liked the third book, and I was expecting something entirely different than what we got in the forth book ( ... )

ugh oh god yes, the movie gave draco and dumbledore quite a bit more screentime, but i really was disappointed with the lack of snape and the overabundance of, you know, ~*~shipping~*~. i hated umbridge too, but MAN was she a well-done villain ( ... )
