Food, music, books, movies, thoughts--the works!

Treat 2! After supersam5 took andsoitgoeson and myself to Mezzo Mezzo, it was andsoitgoeson’s turn to treat us. This time too we opted for Italian cuisine at the very elegant Mangi Ferra. Tasteful décor and charming music set the mood for a wonderful evening. But it wasn’t just the ambience that had us floored. The food was just as lip smacking. The wood fire pizza, perfect lasagne, rich risotto, creamy fetuccine pasta, versatile formaggio and sinful cappuccino mocha cake had us aching for more. Surely, this is not our last visit to Mangi Ferra, right guys?

I am not really a festival person. Although I admit, I do make some concession in terms of enthusiasm for Diwali and Christmas. Diwali, because I love lights, sparklers, fireworks and vivacity. And Christmas, because I love its spirit and somewhere I still believe in Santa. This Diwali, I am going to buy this pendant. I am a Horse, according to the Chinese calendar. *Neighs* :D

Some soundtracks possess such an overwhelming force of visualisation and emotion that you don't need to see the film to experience its moments of tears and joy, darkness and light, tension and humour.

I am hooked, booked and addicted to the point of no return to my MP3 player. And boy, is my play list super duper rocking? 256MB of unadulterated bliss!!!!!!!!

I am in love with this French fella. The name is Tiersen. Yann Tiersen. Doesn’t ring a bell? Well, he composed the awe-inspiring score of Amélie. His music is sensational. His music is untouched. His music doesn’t just come from the heart. It is heart. Whether he captures the linear nature of sadness or the anxiety of hope or the profundity of love, Tiersen streams magic through his genius creations.

Dug a few books at home: Umberto Eco’s Baudolino and Chuck Palahniuk’s Haunted. Both look interesting! But I just can’t make up my mind. I’ll probably plump for the latter.

My bro flew to Bangkok yesterday. I hope he gets me something nice ;) He always gets me the bestest gifts. *Greedy halo appears*

I miss Lord of the Rings. One of these days, I am going to watch the entire trilogy...the extended versions back to back... alone. But I know I will go in a sullen mode afterwards. Why are some scars never meant to heal? Never mind. :)

yay
