It's yoko's birthday! And it's also the first special little birthday page on the calendar (man, what would they do if two people had the same birthday on the same week?)
I for one am appalled at Maru's handwriting, but I love Ryo for writing his entire message in English so I don't have to edit it lol.
Is the text too hard to read? I'm okay with it, but I really wanted to use a handwritten type of font to keep the whole birthday card feel of it.
Some notes: Subaru says "もっとたてになれ横" (Motto tate ni nare yoko) which literally "become a shield, Yoko." (basically, become strong enough to protect others) However, "tate" can also mean vertical, and Yoko's "yoko" character in his last name means "horizontal", so I stuck with the pun. LOL I know it sounds lame in English but what are you gonna do?
I forgot to put this in here: Kalbi is that delicious beef that you cook yourself when you do yakiniku. I highly recommend it!
Okay, so I figured out the 白い丸ビル joke thanks to
chuu_girl! Marubiru is an actual building in Osaka (think if Hina called him the CN tower or something) and it looks like
this. See the resemblance? Tall, white, and round lol. It's referring to how yoko is tall, white, and gets fat easily if he goes around doing secret eating.
Edit: LOL can we talk about how the cake says "Yakayama"? LOLOLOL
