I had the time of my life at The Hub 2 and booked The Hub 3 immediately. But inbetween that time the unthinkable happened, Children of Earth, and I said that The Hub 3 would be my last.

I LIED!!

We had such a fantastic time that kitty_poker1, sweet_exile and accioscar and I have just this minute booked Gold tickets for The Hub 4. Yes, we are crazy, but we are also very happy. ( Read more... )

I'm very much tempted. Very, very. There's got to be a pay-off for all this bloody overtime I'm having to do. I can't wait for next autumn when my loan is FINALLY paid off and I can book these kind of things without blinking.

How fast do the Gold tickets usually go?

(P.S. I decided on a costume for the Weekender Maskerade which is simultaneously awesome and a nightmare to make. I think I'm going slightly mad.)

Ooooh, yes, you should definitely come! That would be fantastic!

Gold tickets can go reasonably fast depending on the guests booked. I do believe there are quite a few left but if John or Gareth or James get announced they'll go like lightning. (also, the sooner you book the more chance they'll be that you get in the same group as us and therefore we can queue together)

~crosses fingers you'll come~

OMG, I haven't even thought about the Maskerade! I must! What are you making or is it a surprise?

I know that the earliest I could get the ticket is probably going to be the end of November. I'm thinking that even if I don't manage to get a Gold ticket I'd still like to go - though I might have to pay extra for other things and queue up with the plebs:(.

Really, it's just seeing people like you lot again that makes things like this so good.

I knew that if I dressed up for the Maskerade that whatever I made would have to do double duty and be suitable for when we take the Brownies away on holiday in 2011. The theme is Doctor Who so I had to choose between what would give a bunch of 8 year olds the better nightmares - Daleks or Weeping Angels? I'm going for the Angels from Blink. Most of the costume is easy though time consuming but the wings are going to kill me!

LOL, Kitty and I were plebs the first time we went and it was fine. I think the Golds are going quite slowly at the mo so fingers crossed they'll still be lots left by the end of November. If not there's always the Silver tickets which are exactly the same as Gold except you don't get the hour-long guest reception, the mug, t-shirt or the priority seating for the talks. But all the autos and photos are still included.

I think that's going to give me nightmares! LOL! Sounds like a hard costume to make. I wouldn't know where to begin!

I wouldn't know where to begin! crafty_tardis - the mod did a fabulous Weeping Angel for DragonCon last year and I'm adapting her instructions.

Helps that I've got a scary Angel mask already from the DW mag that I've been collecting (purely because of the brilliant free gifts each week - prizes for the Brownies all sorted).

I'm musing whether to do something radically different with the costume - fairy wings or graffiti, perhaps?

OMG, thanks for the link! THEY DO KNITTED DOLLS!!! I've been wondering for ages if it's possible to get patterns. Whooohoooooooo!!!

The DW does have great free gifts. I bought it once to get TARDIS post-its and a sonic screwdriver pen. Hee!
