Emotions are funny, and especially in fandoms emotions get charged up a lot. I try not to begrudge anyone who's hurt over this, sometimes it's hard to get out of your own viewpoint and see it from someone else's. Some views I just don't get though. Like the fans saying she's a good match or his ideal woman; one, most fans don't know much about her personality-wise, nevermind anything period. So it's like "...based on what?" Not saying she isn't or isn't, but how can you say she is or isn't when you barely know her, you know? Or the whole congrats-on-the-relationship and wedding talk. I try to keep out of it, but it seriously boggles my mind.
I think the only things anyone really can be sure of is this:
-they likely met at a-nation last year and kept in touch -they went out on at least one confirmed date -they clearly like each other enough to even go out together -they both admit to having a dating life -they're both being vague with their answers
G has said both that he dates and has mentioned numerous times about going out to dinner with friends or going out to a club. Why is this outing the only one that got caught? If we assume that he didn't know the paps were there, how serious is this "relationship" when he didn't drive her there & didn't drive her home, wasn't even holding her hand leaving the restaurant, and hugged her good-bye? And if he did know they were there, why'd he get caught? I don't know, I'm sure he likes her and is probably testing the waters so to speak, and they're clearly just enjoying themselves right now. But something about it is just unusual. I reckon if he considered this a serious relationship, he'd be protecting their privacy like his life depended on it. What went down with his ex-wife seems to have left a very deep mark, he wouldn't want to put another woman through that if she was that dear to his heart. Especially someone like ICONIQ who's already (sorta) in the spotlight, she's easier to harass than an unknown. I want him to be happy just as much as any other fan, but this sets off my spidey senses for some reason.

I do agree, I think maybe they're saying they suit looks wise in their opinion, but you are right that no one can say for sure if they're a perfect match because we don't know much about her and despite all the interviews and however long we've been a fan of G's, we can't say we know him either (and since he seems to contradict himself a lot it makes it more confusing lol)
I do agree that if it was anything major he would be a lot more careful, and the fact that he said before he goes on dates, and this time he just got caught being out on one, everyone automatically assumes it's this huge serious thing, if it is then great, I'd never say I'm not happy for him, but I think a lot of us are jumping the gun a bit, and lashing out at those who dare doubt it (not anyone on LJ! But I've seen fans have a go at other fans on other sites like tumblr just because they disagree about it being all that serious right now) it should be no surprise that he goes out on dates, as he's said so, dates as in more than one woman, so to assume right away that they're definitely in a loyal, romantic relationship I do agree is off, because there would be no point in being so vague, I honestly feel at this point that they don't know themselves, which is entirely possible.
