Two announcements and couple of news

Announcements

1) I won't be subbing any jdrama the coming season. The reasons for this are 2, the main one being that the major drama I was looking forward to sub (Nino x Ryo drama) has already been announced by 2 groups (AS! x STORMY collab for hardsubs; and C.H.L.O.E Projects both hard and soft). I wanted to announce it, but thought it was ridiculously too early to do so.

The second reason is it's about time I graduate, and to do that I have to concentrate on my thesis. If I think of subbing even one drama, I'd end up pushing my graduation even further, which is not really a good thing.

2) I think it would be nice if I inserted a travel log in this journal, to talk about my trips. I don't really go around that much, but I'd like to keep something of those few times I do.
I wanted to start with Dublin, but since I wanted to accompany my posts with pics, I won't be able to do that right away 'cause my cousin, who was kind enough to lend me her digital camera, forgot to bring me the cable to DL the pics to my laptop.
So, I think I wrote a little about my trip to Philadelphia, but not enough !! XD I think I'll start with that one then ^__^

News

- By now everyone knows about the Ono scandal. I just read in uwasa-ko-san's post that Johnny's isn't staying silent, as he usually does. I guess claiming Ono was smoking marijuana is a tad too much for Johnny. Looks like JA (Johnny's & Associates) won't have anything to do with Kodansha anymore. First thing I thought of: Calendars! Well, hopefully they'll get another publisher.

- Miyazaki Hayao's Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea and Oshii Mamoru 's The Sky Crawlers are both competing for the 65th Venice International Film Festival.

- Asian ERASMUS
The Japanese government revealed plans last week to set up a network of academic exchange programs throughout Asia. This is based on the European ERASMUS program, which helps students transfer and accumulate credits between EU universities. Till now, this has not been posbbile in Asia, causing the brave ones who actually do study a few months in a different country to have to postpone their graduation. But now, with this sort of program underway, student exchanges between Asian countries will become easier and hopefully more frequent. The next step is to have an EU-Asia exchange program !!! XD

Don't have time to write anymore stuff, but hopefully this is good enough to satisfy many of you. I like the ERASMUS news most ^__^
Did Miyazaki go to Venice when Spirited Away was in competition?

DUBLIN IS BEAUTIFUL !
They say in Dublin: [speaking about the hills outside it] If you can see them, it means it's going to rain. If you can't see them, it means it's raining!
