I wonder what most people's views on fate are.
The concept itself is quite unbelievable and just vague enough to work. That everything important that happened in your life has happened for a reason.. Not only that but the reason was pre-determined.
It's a beautiful thought really. I'm sure that thought alone will keep people pushing through the worst of times.
Sometimes I question whether religion was created for that sole purpose or if it those events actually occurred.
It's an incomprehensible comfort to believe that there's a plan for you.. That there's a reason everything which left you on the ground bleeding and crying occurred to further your development... That these events were placed for the sole purpose of making you smarter, stronger, and more understanding than the past you.
Ignoring the improbabilities of such specific plans for everyone and everything; Let's assume I believe in this fate. Now begs an even-more important question than its existence. Should it exist, has anyone ever once stated that everyone's fate plans call for a peaceful end.. To rephrase that in simpler terms, no one says that according to fate, everyone will die happy.
Despite this shortcoming, people live their lives as normal.. They push through their hatred and depression to appear as normal as everyone else in this world. It's probably for the best.
