I've seen the Kansas of your sweet little myth
i stayed up to watch the weekly pbs news report and now my stomach hurts and i feel angry. it was a profile of kansas and how they're trying to end all "reproductive" freedoms. any medical personal (doctor, clinic, school counselork, psycholgist, etc.) MUST report any incidence of ANY kind of sexual activity in EVERYONE under the age of 16. and they've tried to get the complete medical records of 90 women who received abortions at two clinics in kansas. it makes me so incredibly angry. the pbs reported kept asking people "don't you think that if teenager know they're going to be reported, they just won't tell their doctors or seek condoms/birth control/help?" and they just kept answering, "oh, no. they'll just stop having sex." bullshit. i know that the underlying issue behind this is roe v. wade, but as strongly pro-choice as i am, let's put that aside for a second. we live in a society of rampant sexuality perpetuated by media and lindsay lohan and where we send mostly naked beyonces and jessica simpsons to entertain the generation of people we're killing in a senseless war, but we're going to tell a younger generation that if they give or get a blow job and they try to be safe about it by seeking help that we're going to report it to the state as an incidence of rape?! you've got to be fucking kidding me. no wonder twelve year olds are so screwed up.
