it feels like it's a lot later than it actually is. vincent's already asleep; passed out on our bed, a book thrown open across his chest. he's reading "lunar park," which he bought for me for my birthday. it is honestly the scariest thing i have ever fucking read. i don't mean wacky scary or bad scary, i mean look over your shoulder, have nightmares, and not be sure what is real or possible scary. i've read a lot in my lifetime, including all of stephen king and assorted other horror writers, but i can honestly say that after reading this i was petrified. it doesn't actually come out until sometime in august, but i got an advanced reader edition from v. it's so good. if you're going to read it, though, you should probably read *american psycho* first.

things here are good. i haven't updated much because most of my life is camp and i'm incredibly paranoid about writing anything about my job in case someone would find it and i'd get my ass fired for writing about the job. camp is okay. hectic and exhausting, but okay. i like my coworkers, i like my kids, but i'll be really glad for it to end.

i'm looking forward to liz and justin's wedding, although i don't think i'll really see much of them at it. but my parents, brian, and austin will be there too so we'll make it our own party of sorts. i talked to austin tonight. it was good to hear his voice.

i guess i should probably go to bed. i was just feeling guilty about not updating more often. i'll try and do better.
