functionality vs. the side effects of velcro
every summer vincent battles to find an ample number of "non-douchey" shorts. he has no patience for cargo shorts, dislikes short, sporty shorts, and is generally pissed off by what is considered "in style." this summer he purchased four suitable pairs; two from target, two from a second-hand store. the ones he was wearing this afternoon had a cargo poucn that closed with velcro.
vincent is overly concerned with the sound that the velcro makes when opening or closing the pouch. he appreciates the functionality of the velcro but hates the audible side effect.
in other news, i had my first emergency at came today. a camper ran into a basketball backboard support pole and split her head open. i applied pressure and my red cross certified knowledge of head wounds and tried to keep the blood out of her eyes. mostly i just prayed her mother wouldn't bawl me out on the spot for allowing her child to get hurt. the mother didn't. and it was all good.
mike doughty was on letterman last night. he has an ugly tattoo.
i got out of work early today and there was an amazon.com box waiting for me. i read an entire essay/novel this afternoon lying in front of the air conditioner. it was awesome.
