Chapter 15 This wasn’t right Heechul thought as Siwon started retreating. The bed was so soft and comforting he felt himself melting under the temptation of sleep. How long had it been that he was able to get to sleep without his heart hurting. Wait he wanted to say to Siwon. It was Siwons bed after all he should sleep in it. His eyes started to droop. Had he asked Siwon to stay? Heechul couldn’t fight it no more and fell under the veil of unconsciousness.
Heechul woke up the next morning feeling like he had the best sleep in his whole entire life. Wait a second this wasn’t his room. Warm breath swept across the back of his neck giving his goose bumps. Hangeng? Why would it be Hangeng? He didn’t even think this was his room. He shuffled turning around to see who was breathing on him. Siwon? Oh that was right Siwon had told him to sleep in his bed.
When did Siwon get so handsome? Had he always looked that beautiful? Heechul found himself tracing Siwons face with his finger. Shaking his head he pulled his hand away. What the hell was he thinking?!This was wrong. He shouldn’t have done this not when his heart still desired Hangeng. Heechul sighed. Why wouldn’t it feel like this with Hangeng? Why couldn’t it be this simple with Hangeng? Why was it that everything hard always seemed to involve that beautiful Chinese man?
Siwon eyes scrunched up and then relaxed. Heechul had to fight the urge to scream when Siwon grabbed him in his sleep and pulled him close. Heechul rolled his eyes. It seems that even in even in his sleep Siwon needed skinship. Normally Heechul would’ve pushed him off. However this time he would let it go. After all it was thanks to Siwon that he got the amount of sleep that he did. He might as well relax to he thought. Siwons arms were so comforting. He felt extremely safe in those big strong arms. Unintentionally he snuggled close into Siwon and closed his eyes. Yes if only it was this easy with Hangeng.
“Siwon we have a schedule today you need…”
“Ugh go away”
Heechul groaned half asleep. Siwon smiled as Heechul snuggled closer into his chest. Leeteuk stood in the doorway biting his lip. Shaking his head internally he decided not to think anything of it.
“Siwon you have five minutes to get ready to leave. Okay”
“Yes Hyung”
Leeteuk closed the door. Maybe Siwon would be able to help Heechul. He saw Hangeng emerge out of his room and called out to him.
“Hangeng!”
Meanwhile Siwon was trying to pull Heechul, who was clinging to him as if his life depended on it, off him. It was almost cute how tight he was holding him. A smile graced itself upon Siwons lips as Heechul once again snuggled close. He really just wanted to stay there and not move but he had a schedule he had to go to. Ever so gently he shook Heechuls shoulders.
“Hyung you have to wake up or at least let me go I have a schedule to go to.”
Heechul gave no sign of waking up. Siwon sighed now he only had three minutes to get ready. He pulled the pillow that he had been using and slipped it against Heechuls arms. The half asleep Heechul attached himself to the pillow letting Siwon go free. That was too cute Siwon thought. So he left Heechul hugging the pillow sleeping on his bed. Rushing he managed to get dressed and ready for the schedule in time.
Heechul woke up to the feeling of being cold. What was he hugging that was so soft? He found a pillow in his clutches. How had he gotten that? The bed was empty beside him. Where was Siwon…a schedule most likely? Heechul yawned and stretched out on the bed. He should get up.
It almost gave him a fright when he walked outside and nearly walked into Hangeng.
“Heechul”
Heechul just smiled at him before walking past. They had only made eye contact and already his heart was hurting. How could one hopeless man do so much to him in a short amount of time? It made no sense. All the happy feelings he had were wasted away in a matter of seconds. Hangeng watched intently as Heechul withdrew from his sight. Heechul had spent the night with Siwon?
Heechul sighed to himself late one night. It was so weird. Hangeng would cause him so much pain with just a look and Siwon would wash all the pain away. He took another swing from the bottle of soju in his hands. He had promised that he wouldn’t drink anymore but god damn it; it was the only think that helped him think. Of course he had to do it in the middle of the night when everyone else was asleep and he would have to hide the empty bottles but at least he got to sleep quickly and painlessly.
This was already his sixth bottle. He had had to raid Sungmins hidden stash but he would replace it so it was all good. With that amount of alcohol in his body it is understandable that he didn’t see someone enter until they were directly in front of him. He nearly jumped out of his skin when they just suddenly appeared in front of him. It was just his luck that it was the same person who was the cause of all his problems. Hangengs sparkling eyes looked at him worriedly. Everything seemed to blur. Even til this day Heechul was not sure exactly what had happened.
The bottle had been snatched out of his hand and his back made a thud as it hit the wall. His eyes widened. The look in Hangengs eyes was dangerous. Heechul felt himself shiver. He was completely rooted to the spot and Hangeng wasn’t even touching him. How could one man make him freeze with just a gaze? Hangeng looked to the side at his hand. Heechul could clearly see the soju bottle that he had been drinking held by Hangeng.
“I really… don’t get it.”
Hangeng dropped to his knees. Heechuls mind was fuzzy why was Hangeng acting like this? He felt his breath catch when Hangeng wrapped his arms around his legs. It was wrong. It was so wrong. The warmth of Hangengs arms was making him shiver.
“I don’t get it”
What was wrong? Heechul couldn’t understand what Hangeng meant. Maybe it was because of the alcohol, maybe it was because Hangengs head was too close to a certain part of him. Heat flooded to Heechuls cheeks. It was wrong to think of Hangeng this way. He wanted to weave his fingers through those soft dark locks. He wanted to tips Hangengs head back to see those beautiful eyes sparkle up at him. He wanted to feel those soft rosebud lips pressed gently against his. To trail his fingers down that beautiful toned body, fingers dipping suggestively.
Hangengs head flicked up. His eyes sparkling up at Heechul. Having Hangeng kneeling before him was doing nothing good for his hidden desires.
“I hate this you.”
Heechuls heart skipped a beat. All his desires came crashing down. Hangeng hated him? The bottle made a clink as it fell to the floor. Hangengs hands turned into fists.
“I really hate this you. Bring the hyung that I know back”
Hangeng stood up so quickly that Heechul flinched. Hangengs eyes seemed to bore holes into him. His mind kept replaying it over and over again. Hangeng hated him. Hangeng all but slammed his hands on the wall on either side of Heechuls head. Hangengs actions screamed dangerous. His eyes…what did that expression mean? Was it pity? Was it anger? Heechuls mind couldn’t comprehend anything; it had stopped working when Hangeng told him he hated him.
“… What the hell is so wrong that you have to be so stupid! … Tell me!!”
Heechuls found himself shaking. This Hangeng was intimidating, or maybe drinking had turned him into a wuss. Hangengs words were coated in some emotion that Heechul couldn’t comprehend. His heart filled with so much pain. Never had Hangeng yelled at him, He hadn’t realised he slid down the wall until Hangeng crouched in front of him. He wanted to cry when Hangeng cupped his cheek. Why was it that everything about this man made his heart hurt? Those eyes why was Hangeng looking at him like that?
Hangeng let go of his cheek and stood up quickly. Heechul felt his heart twist watching Hangeng walk away from him. One day Hangeng would walk away for good, leaving his life and killing his heart. Hangeng paused at the door frame; he whispered something so soft it could have been mistake as the wind. But Heechul heard it and wished that he hadn’t.
Hangeng was long gone. It was starting to get light outside with the sun just peeking over the horizon. Heechul hadn’t moved. His legs pulled up to his chest and his head down. Maybe Hangeng was right, He was pathetic . Hangeng hated him…he thought he was pathetic. Heechul wanted to scream What Hangeng had done was plunge a knife to his chest and twist it ever so slowly. Hours past but Heechuls remained frozen.
“H---Heechul! What’s wrong?!”
He was so gone he couldn’t recognise their voice. They pulled his head out of his arms. He knew the face but couldn’t picture the name. Their mouth moved but the words sounded like an annoying buzz. This person they pulled him into their arms. He didn’t understand it. He had been numb, painfully numb yet when this person pulled him into their arms that all faded. He was still numb but it was no longer as painful, it still hurt but it was a pain he could cope with. Time seemed to pass but he didn’t register it.
There was a hum of the other members waking up. He was let go for just a second. There was the sound of the bottles of soju being thrown out. Next thing he knew he was picked up, everything seemed to whirl past. He couldn’t fight it any more. He closed his eyes not want to be there anymore. Was this an over-reaction? Maybe if it someone else that had said it, it could be considered over-reacting. But it wasn’t someone else it was Hangeng, the one that his heart craved for that had said it. Not only had he been called Pathetic he was told that Hangeng had hated him. Hangeng hated him. The words replayed over and over in his head.
He jumped when soft fingertips grazed gently against the sensitive skin of his wrist. Siwons concerned face zoomed in his view. He was in Siwons room on Siwons bed. He mustn’t have wanted to others to see him like this. His emotions were a mess. What was up what was down? It was better this way wasn’t it? No! No it wasn’t! He needed Hangeng by his side. He needed Hangeng. A tear slid down his soft milky white cheek. He needed Hangeng but Hangeng didn’t need him. That was the problem. Hangeng didn’t need him.
Siwon could do nothing but watch Heechuls inner confliction. He had the scare of his life when he walked into kitchen to find Heechul curled up into a ball unmoving. No matter what he said Heechul didn’t react. It was almost as if Heechul wasn’t there, sure he was there physically, but mentally it was as if Heechuls was floating somewhere else. Somewhere deep inside himself that no one else could see. Siwon had done the only thing he could think of and throw his arms around him. He hated seeing any of his Hyungs like that. Heechul had always come across as the strong type that didn’t bow to any threat. Seeing who he believed was one of his strongest Hyungs torn hurt his heart. A gentle tear slid down Heechuls cheek and he wiped it off.
Heechuls eye flickered up meeting Siwons. Siwon wrapped his arms around Heechul who did nothing to react. Heechul wanted the alcohol to take over, he wanted to forget everything. He wanted to hide under the comforting blanket that alcohol provided him. Instead he hid under Siwons tight and warm embrace.
Siwon stayed with him the whole time. He did leave occasionally the first time to tell the other members that Heechul was sick and he was going to stay and watch over him. Apparently they had a schedule that day, He also left to bring food to make Heechul eat. Siwon almost panicked when he brought lunch in only to find Heechul gone. He quickly found Heechul head buried in a toilet bowl heaving. He held Heechuls long soft black locks behind his back and rubbed his back with his other hand.
Siwon didn’t say anything and that was exactly what he needed. He didn’t lecture like Leeteuk would have. He was just simply there and that was all Heechul needed. Heechul hated it, he hated that he was showing weakness in front of Siwon or any member at that. Siwon treated him with great care as if he was a fragile doll that could break. Siwon placed him gently on the bed before leaving to get some tablets and water. Heechul stared at the wall in front of him.
Maybe this was a good thing. He glared scolding at his brain that dared to think Hangeng hating him was good. Hear me out his brain screamed; you wanted to get over your feeling for Hangeng right? He found himself nodding, oh he really was going crazy but maybe his brain was right. Maybe with Hangeng hating him he might get over these feelings of love that he held for his fellow Chinese member. So why did it hurt more now than ever before?
When Leeteuk came home from the schedule with all the other members he made a conscious decision to go and check on his Dongsaeng Heechul. His first stop was the younger’s room that was shared with Hangeng. He knocked on the door not wanting to anger a sick Heechul. There was no answer. Maybe he was sleeping? Leeteuk opened the door to find the room empty. Hmm that was strange. Heebum crawled from under Heechuls bed, darted between Leeteuks legs and headed down the other way.
Oh that’s right Siwon was taking care of Heechul maybe he was in Siwons room. He closed the door before heading to Siwons room. Leeteuk just hoped that Siwon was still in one piece. A normal healthy Heechul proved to be a handful but a sick Heechul was ten times worse. It normally took a lot of bribing to get someone to take care of Heechul, himself included. Heebum was scratching on Siwons door when Leeteuk got there.
Heebum looked at him that at the door before turning back to him. Well aren’t you going to open the door He seemed to be saying. Leeteuk knocked on the door making Heebum jump back. As soon as he opened the door Heebum darted through. There was no doubt in his mind that Heechul was in there. Leeteuk bit his lip slightly worried at what condition he would find Siwon in. Siwon wasn’t there it was only Heechul sleeping in Siwons bed.
Leeteuk made his way over to Heechul; there was something that wasn’t right with Heechul. He still looked beautiful but there was just something off and Leeteuk couldn’t put his finger on it.
Heechul almost jolted upright when he felt a caring hand place itself on his forehead. He almost groan but doing so would only make the leader worry more about him and that was the last thing that he wanted. He kept silent as Leeteuk checked over him making sure everything was okay. Finally he had enough.
“What are you my mother?! I’m fine!”
Leeteuk jumped back a hurt expression on his face. Heechul sighed. He shouldn’t be taking any of this out on Leeteuk.
“Sorry”
Leeteuk froze. Now he knew there was defiantly something wrong with Heechul. His hand once again was placed on Heechuls forehead.
“Now I defiantly know something’s wrong”
Heechul playfully swatted Leeteuks hand away earning a dimpled smile from the elder.
“Now to the more important question…Is Siwon still alive”
Heechul chuckled. There was just something about Leeteuk that provided him with comfort. Leeteuk always went out of his way to make sure everyone was alright. Leeteuk took care of them all just like an umma would to her children. Heechul thought it was both a blessing and a curse because who then would take over and do the same for him. Heechul suddenly gained a new Respect for the super junior leader. He tackled a stunned Leeteuk to the ground. He wanted to be more like Leeteuk maybe then things would be easier.
