He cheeks flushed red and he curled into a ball of cover his naked body. His eyes looked anywhere else besides Sungmin. Even now the water was still dripping down on him. Looking around he realised why. He was in a shower?!

“Leeteuk”

Sungmin after turning off the taps was holding out a pink fluffy towel for him to take. Leeteuk stepped out of the shower and wrapped the pink fluffy towel around himself. He yelped when Sungmin ran his finger down his back, jumping out of the way he looked at Sungmin with wide eyes. Sungmin held his hands out as a sign that he meant no harm.
“You had blood on your shirt. I was just checking if it healed or not”

Sungmin must have been very embarrassed with himself because he walked out of the room. Leeteuk shivered. He never realised how sensitive his back was. He reached back hand grazing against the spot where his skin was pierced. His body hummed, it was something strange. His wings extended. It felt so good to have them out even if they were tucked up close to his body. He let out a blissful sigh. Gosh it felt so good. There was a gasp from the doorway and Leeteuk turned quickly.

“Gees Sungmin you scared me”

Sungmin shook his head and smiled at him as he held out some clothes.

“Sorry it’s just…the wings…”

Sungmin turned his head to the side cheeks tinged a bit red. To be honest Leeteuk couldn’t blame him. His wings were glowing after all. Leeteuk noticed how Sungmins fingers twitched. Leeteuk took the clothes out of Sungmins hands.

“You can touch it if you want”

Sungmins head whipped around towards him, eyes slightly unbelieving. His hand reached out to touch Leeteuks wings at the last second he pulled his hand away. He quickly turned his head awkwardly away and made his way out the door only pausing to say:

“You should get dressed”

And with those words Sungmin walked out. Leeteuks wings ruffled around his frame. The air was filled with a thrilling...well the only was Leeteuk knew how to describe it would be spiritual electricity. It filled his body and thrilled him. Well after having to keep his wings inside it was no wonder why it felt so good to keep them out. He looked down at the shirt in his hand and sighed. Well he might as well get dressed. Regrettably Leeteuk withdrew his wings into him pausing slightly as he shifted uncomfortably.

A few minutes later Leeteuk walked out of the bathroom freshly clothed. His eyes caught on random pink objects. How had they gotten to Sungmins office/residence? He turned walking down another hallway and noticing a door opened. Voices filtered from the room like wisps of slithering fog. Leeteuk felt himself drawn to the room. Without even a thought he had entered the room. Sungmin smiled widely at him from his position on the chair. The other man in the room smiled but so as happily as Sungmin.

“You’re Ryeowook”

Ryeowook nodded his head smiling at him.

“How are you finding Korea Leeteuk?”

Ryeowook turned to face Sungmin so Leeteuk thought it might have been a question Ryeowook never expected to be answered. Leeteuk awkwardly stood before plopping himself gracefully dow on the arm of the rose pink couch Sungmin was occupying. Ryeowooks eyes flickered to him before glancing back towards Sungming.

“Something is happening but I haven’t been able to get close enough to find out. I think their starting to figure out. Angels have...”

Leeteuk stood up quickly. Ryeowook had whispered it but he was sure he heard him say angels!

“Did you just say ‘angels’ “

Ryeowook looked at Sungmin who just sighed and shook his head. Leeteuk head was spinning. Ryeowook this human knew about angels.

“Do you know who they are...these angels”

Leeteuk fists were clenched tightly on his knees. Maybe just maybe Ryeowook might know Young Woon. Ryeowook turned unmoving eyes towards him, just watching and studying him.

“Why?”

Leeteuk swallowed the lump in his throat. How could he tell them that he had chosen to abandon heaven to come to earth to find his lost angel. They would probably think he was a disgrace. Leeteuk sighed before answering.

“I’m looking for someone or rather I’m looking for an angel”

Leeteuk was so concentrated on Ryeowook he didn’t seem the look that glazed Sungmins face before it became the sweet smile again. Ryeowook gave a tilt to is head, gesturing Leeteuk to go on.

“The name is Young Woon. Do you know him?”

Ryeowook stared deep into Leeteuk almost as if he was searching his soul. Leeteuk gulp. In his mind he was thinking Please tell me you know him, Please tell me his okay, Please tell me he’s alive Ryeowook leaned back in his chair comfortable a sad smile played across his face.

“Sorry Leeteuk but I don’t know anyone by that name.”

Leeteuk tried to smile back at him but he just couldn’t do it. He slumped against the chair arm not paying attention to whatever it was they were talking about. It wasn’t Ryeowook fault, he shouldn’t have gotten his hopes up like that. It didn’t bothered Leeteuk that they knew about angels...wait a minuet. A thought stuck Leeteuk in the head.

“What about Kangin?”

Ryeowook visibly paled and Sungmin started studying him as if he had just sprouted another arm. Their unfinished sentences hung heavily in the air.

“What did you just say?”

Leeteuk opened his mouth but then closed it again feeling foolish. Sungmins hand reached over and touched his leg gaining his attention.

“Don’t ever mention his name. Kangin is not the kind of angel you want to be hanging around with”

Sungmins eyes seemed to plead with him. Leeteuk didn’t get it. Kangin was just an angel right? It was not like he could harm him. Could he? Sungmins pleading eyes stopped Leeteuk from questioning him. Could it be that Kangin might be one of the angels that Siwon and Kibum warned his about? But that didn’t matter. All Leeteuk wants to know is where he can find his little angel. Ryeowook left soon after. Leeteuk barely noticed with how fast his mind was wheeling. Sungmins hand on his shoulder did make him almost just out of his skin though.

Leeteuk suddenly felt so sleepy. Sungmin smiled softly at him. With the same gentle hands that pulled him away from that almost accident, he guided him to bed. Sungmin smiled softly at him as he pulled the covers over his body.

“That little girl was saved because of you. She’s perfectly fine so don’t worry about it okay.”

Sungmin smoothed his soft brown bangs out of his face. Leeteuk felt a soft smile form on his face. That action was something so familiar, it was something He used to do so long ago. Leeteuk felt warmth and comfort sweep over him. He had no hesitations to let it completely consume him.

Leeteuk stood in an extravagant high ceiling white gold room. His white wings fluttered around him showing how nervous he was. He had been called by one of what they called the Pure Ones. The Pure ones were angels that were a step under the Archangels who of course were a step under God. Had he done something wrong? Was it even possible to do something wrong in heaven?

“Leeteuk”

Leeteuk snapped out of his musings and sharply folded his wings behind his back to properly greet the pure one. The Pure angel smiled down at Leeteuk as he flew over to his desk. Pearl was this pure angels name. When Leeteuk first came to heaven he thought they were very unusual names but then again in heaven all the bonds humans have are lifted.

“We have a task for you Leeteuk.”

A task? Leeteuk tilted his head to the side confused. What could the pure ones possibly want him to do? If he had his wings out they would be fluttering uncontrollably. Where they trying to get rid of him? Surely that didn’t exist in heaven. The Pure angel flittered around him and it was only then that Leeteuk noticed another angel in the room. They watched Leeteuk with strong brown eyes that seemed confident but there was something venerable about them. It was the first time he had ever laid eyes on Young Woon.

The young angel stood confident and tall but Leeteuk could tell that’s not how they really felt. The pure angel gestured to the young angel.

“This is Young Woon and you’ll be his mentor.”

Young Woon raised an eyebrow and Leeteuk could almost hear his thoughts of disbelief. They went something along the lines of ‘they expect this dimple smiling, seems-to-be-too-happy-an-angel-to-be-my-mentor’. Leeteuk would’ve laughed if he hadn’t been blown by the tingling current of energy coursing through him. He had never felt like that before. The feeling disintegrated as quickly as it came. Only the residues that lingered in his mind reminded him that it really happened.

With a smile and a little lingering energy Leeteuk led Young Woon out of the white gold room and into the sparking white gold hallways. He chuckled seeing the amazed expression on Yong Woons face as he took it all in remembering the first time he had even seen these walls. They walked instead of flying partially to let Young woon soak the sites in and partially because he didn’t know if Young Woon could fly without falling.

Young Woon caught his eye and he smiled. He almost chuckled when he felt Yong Woon thoughts ‘Maybe this dimple smiling, seems-to-be-too-happy-an-angel isn’t so bad after all’. Leeteuk smiled to himself and couldn’t help but think that eternity would never be the same how that he had Young Woon.

Their friendship went through the slightly awkward phase that newly friendships normally have but it didn’t last that long. It was surmising just how quickly they just seemed to fit together, how they became not only mentor and mentee but eternal everlasting friends. They shared very entertaining times like Young Woons first flying lesson.

Leeteuk extended his wings to their full length. Theres just something about having ones wings streached out beside you, ready to take flight with just a seconds notice that fills you with over whelming power. After basically explaning the jist of it Leeteuk turned to Young Woon.

“Did you get that?”

Young Woon just stood there mouth opened as he started at Leeteuk. Immediately Leeteuk raised a hand to his face.

“What do I have something on my face?”

Young Woon inwardly shook his head. How could he tell Leeteuk that in that moment he had been completely mesmarised by the way he smiled and the way his wings just radiated light. Leeteuk of course mistook it as the nerves and he played a caring hand on his shoulders.

“Don’t worry i won’t let you fall”

Young Woon swallowed the lump in his throat and nodded.

“Now close you’re eyes”

Young Woon did just that. It was just them on this endless expanse of soft white clouds.

“Think of it as another limb, focus on stretching it out, feel the soft breeze of the wind rush across them”

Yong Woon focused thinking of exactly what Leeteuk said. He didn’t feel anything. He was about to open his eyes and tell Leeteuk it was useless when he felt a sudden rush of energy. His eyes snapped open and Leetek squealed with delight.

“That was perfect Young Woon”

Young Woon brushed an invisible strand of hair from his face.

“Of coruse it was, i’m just too talented”

Leeteuk just rolled his eyes.

“Well Mr. I’m-just-too-talented it’s time for you to actually fly”

Young Woon visibly tensed up.

“It’ll be alright. I won’t let anything happen to you”

Young Woon rolled his eyes but Leeteuk knew his words had been a great comfort. Yong Woon flapped his wings hard and let out a small scream as he was blown quiet high in the air. Leeteuk could have laughed at the high pitched almost girl like scream that Young Woon gave. Instead he sighed as he thought ‘trust Young Woon to overdo it’. Leeteuks back arched gracefully as he pushed himself off the soft fluffy clouds and into the air.

Young Woon in his panic was spinning around as he flapped his wings trying to righten himself but putting too much force into it. Leeteuks hands gripped him securely and he knew everything was going to be alright. He looked into those glowing brown eyes and felt his body relax.

“Where you trying to blow yourself out of heaven?”

Young Woon grinned his panic from before completely disappeared.

“Ah so you knew my plan all along”

Young Woon tried to ignore the tingling feeling from where Leeteuks hands were against his wrist. His wings were still and it was only Leeteuks beating wings that were keeping them suspended in mid air.

“Now this time not so much power”

Leeteuk would never ever forget hoe Young Woons face lit up as he finally get it right. Leeteuk had let go of his wrist but continued to hold Young Woons hand. It felt almost magical hlding Leeteuks hand while they soared over the soft fluffy pure white clouds. Young Woon gradually lost altitude as the angel equivalent to tiredness washed over him. Leeteuk chuckled inwardly to himself as he hoisted Young Woon up to eye level and got an arm around him.

“You did really well!”

Leeteuk flew both of them over the soft clouds, through the mass of angels and into his quaters. An angels room is whatever an angel makes of it. Young Woons was simple in furniture but filled with different type of gym equipment. He looked almost like a child wrapped up in the soft white silk bed sheets. Young Woon fell asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow. Leeteuk smiled down at him and placed a soft kiss on his forehead.

Everything had gone exceedingly well. They were always around each other. They had eternity stretched out in front of them but they spent their time as if it was limited. Little touches went a long way to show that they were there for each other. Time passed and everything was going well but on day that all changed.

All the angels were gathered together. Some were settled amongst the clouds others lingered high in the air. Young Woon separated from him for just a second.

“Leeteuk angel!”

Leeteuk turned to the sound of his name being called. A tall handsome angel glided gracefully over to him, their hands held out to welcome him. Leeteuk held his hands out in a similar fashion.

“Siwon angel!”

Siwon smiled down at Leeteuk as he was hovering just a tad bit higher than him. Leeteuk tured his head looking around Siwon for someone.

“Where’s kibum angel?”

Kibum was to Siwon what Young Woon was to Leeteuk. Kibum had gotten to experience his first moments of being an angel and all the moments after that with Siwon. Siwons eyebrows furrowed as he looked around into the mass of angels around them before turning back to Leeteuk with a huge smile.

“Last time I saw him he was talking to Einstein and Galileo. Kibum is like a sponge it’s almost like he’s trying to soak up all the knowledge of the universe.”

Siwon smiled fondly thinking about his other angel before he raised his eyebrow in question.

“But where is your little angel?”

Leeteuk felt a tug and that something was wrong before he actually saw. He flew over to where Young Woon was leaving Siwon standing alone.

“There you are you won’t believe who I found”

Leeteuk hooked his arms into Young Woons and pulled him away from the angel who he sensed had been arguing with him. Leeteuk pulled Young Woon away and flew over towards Siwon.

“What are you doing?”

Leeteuk whispered looking over at him. Young Woon shook Leeteuk off him. Leeteuk started wide eyed at him.

“Young Woon?”

“Butt out!”

Young Woon brushed past a stunned Leeteuk. Leeteuk didn’t understand. What had just happened? He went to follow him but Siwon grabbed his shoulders. Siwons eyebrows were furrowed with question.

“Leeteuk what happened? Is everything okay?”

Leeteuks eyes lingered at the last place he saw Young Woon before he turned to Siwon with a huge fake smile.

“Oh it’s nothing Siwon.”

By the angels of Siwons eyebrows he didn’t believe him but he never said anything. Leeteuk smiled at him and excuses himself. Leeteuk dashed passed the huge crowd of angels ad stretched his wings out fully taking swift flight as soon as he could. Young Woon was exactly where he thought he’d be. Leeteuk touched down gracefully on the soft white clouds. Leeteuk could feel his heart pounding hard in his chest. Young Woon had his knees against his chest and was looking down through the clouds at something.

Leeteuk made his way towards him not saying anything. He didn’t speak as he sat down next to Young Woon looking down through the clouds. There was a beautiful Korean girl wearing a bright red dress talking to some men.

“She’s pretty”

For some reason Leeteuk just knew that it was the girl Young Woon was watching and not some of the young boys. Young Woon quickly stood up. Leeteuk reacted without even thinking about it. His wings just flapped making him air borne so fast that he was still sitting and had to streach his legs out to touch the ground.

“It’s none of your business”

Young Woon went to walk or fly away but Leeteuk grabbed his arm.

“What’s wrong with you?!”

Leeteuk demamded. The next thing that happened had him stunned. Young Woon had whirled around so fast. Leeteuks hand came to touch his cheek his eyes wide. The pain that came was only from memories of what the slap would’ve felt like. Young Woon turned his back on him not saying anything as he turned around and walked away. Leeteuk was left standing wondering just when they no longer trusted each other. It hurt to think that he might have lost Young Woon.

Leeteuk let things blow over. He left Young Woon alone. Two full human days past before Leeteuk went to look for him. He was kind of worried when he could no longer feel Young Woon. The first place he went was Young Woons quaters. He didn’t find him there or anywhere. It was almost as if Young Woon had disappeared from heaven completely.

“Have you found him?”

Leeteuk pulled his head from where it is buried in his hands and looked up at Siwon. Siwons eyebrows raised in alarm at the distress on Leeteuk face. Leeteuk shook his head looking like a dying man, thought that would be impossible because he was actually and angel and couldn’t die. Leeteuk sighed and ran a hand through his caramel brown hair.

“He’s not here anymore”

Leeteuk looked at Kibum, who had just flown over to them, confused. What did he mean Young Woon wasn’t here? Wasn’t it the most obvious thing. It’s not like they would go searching for someone that was beside him. Siwon put an arm over kibums shoulder.

“I mean that Young Woon is not longer here...in heaven”

Leeteuks head snapped up and he flew the three steps over to Kibum. Panic filled him.

“No you’re wrong!”

Siwon removed his hand from over Kibum shoulder and steered Leeteuk over to a chair he had made appear. Leeteuk didn’t want to believe it. His angel wouldn’t disappear like that. He thought he had known everything about Young Woon but it seems that that was completely wrong. Maybe he didn’t know Young Woon as well as he thought and that terrified him.

~~

Sungmin walked out of the house to find Leeteuk sitting down on the back steps staring up at the starry sky. He plopped himself down next to Leeteuk and looked up at the twinkling stars.

“They’re beautiful aren’t they?”

Leeteuk blinked drawing himself out of his memories.

“Huh? Oh yeah they are”

They didn’t say anything more each lost in their own thoughts. There was one thing that they shared in common and that was the hope that the next day would be better.
