Everything felt as if it was in its right place. Slowly he closed his eyes enjoying the feel of the soft blades of grass pressing against his back, arms and legs. Heat encompassed his hand and he blinked his eyes opened. Fingers threaded through his and he couldn’t help but smile. He turned his eye towards them, his partner, his soul mate. The face was married with wrinkles the hair a soft grey almost white. Hangengs other hand reached over and stroked his equally wrinkled face. There was just so much love surrounding them. Hangeng looked at him with the same amount of love as when they were young and so full of life and energy.
A soft kiss was pressed against his lips and his smile increased. No matter how many times Hangeng kissed him it still left him breathless, like their first kiss. Heechul wished to find Zhou Mi and thank him for letting him experience this life with his beautiful partner. Both turned their heads eyes moving from each others to the midnight sky littered with white sequence. If felt just like the old days, when they would sneak out and lay on the grass side by side losing themselves in the sparkling stars.
Heechul wanted to capture this moment forever. He let his mind wonder as his eyes traced the stars wondering what stories they had to tell. He thought back to the day when they first met. Who would have known that the foreigner that he had found so interesting would be the one he would fight to keep by his side. The hand intertwined with his going limp, dragged him out of his day dreams. He turned his attention to the man beside him.
Hangeng eyes were closed as if he was merely sleeping. Heechuls eyes trailed down watching Hangengs chest for the rise and fall as he breathed in and out. He watched and waited but nothing happened. Heechuls eyes travelled back to Hangeng peaceful face. He reached over brushing Hangengs fringe out of his face. Ever so gently he brought his lips placing one last kiss on those soft lips. Wait for me. I’ll be by your side soon. Heechul leaned back, eyes lingering at the love of his life. Slowly he felt himself slipping away, instead of fighting it like last time he embraced it. He welcomed death as if it was an old friend. Before he completely went under he glazed up at the endless stars. One glittered like a diamond beckoning him to come join it. With one last breath he closed is eyes and allowed his spirit to float away to the one he loved.

Siwon dropped his hand down causing the spherical mist display the image of two old men lying on grass looking like they were in a peaceful sleep, disintegrate. He leaned back on the balcony rail he was perched on eyes trained on the other figure with him. Zhou Mi’s eyes stayed glued to the spot where the spherical mist had just been for another minuet. Finally a small smile came across his face and his eyes met Siwons.
“It was a beautiful ending wasn’t it?”
Siwons eyes stayed train on Zhou Mi looking for any reaction to his words. Zhou Mi shook his head, eyes closing for longer than necessary as he blinked then shut then opened.
“No...It’s a beautiful beginning for their eternity together”
A sincere smile crossed Zhou Mi. His eyes clouded over as images he never ever let himself think came to mind. Siwon watched Zhou Mi intently. Those eyes looked so brown, so vulnerable unlike the sharp silver that Zhou Mi usually used when he gazed upon him. Zhou Mi eyes snapped up to him and immediately changed to the sharp cold silver. Siwon felt a coolness seep over him as Zhou Mi extended his control over him. He clenched his fist testing just how far Zhou Mi had restricted his movement. A smile came across Siwons face.
“So how is ...”
Siwons eyes trailed to the building behind Zhou Mi. Immediately he felt the ropes of Zhou Mis grip tighten around him to the point where it was kind of hard to breathe. Zhou Mi glared at him.
“Don’t you dare. I swear Siwon if you touch him it’ll mean war! I won’t hold back killing you”
Zhou Mis voice was heavy and thick like toxic poison. The grip on Siwon grew so tight his heart stopped beating for a second. Next he was thrown off of the balcony with the force of Zhou Mis glare. Zhou Mis grasp held him til the last minute that Siwon was almost sure he was trying to kill him. His wings broke through Zhou Mis loosened grip and pulled him up into the air.

Zhou Mi stormed through the hallways. His heart beat hard and fast in his chest. He burst through the door and immediately ran to the others side. Their skin was pale white, eyes closed and breath so swallow it almost didn’t exist. Zhou Mi dropped down on the floor near the couch where they lay. He reached over gently moving their sand coloured hair out of their face. They groaned and slowly those eye lids opened.
“How are you feeling Henry?”
Henry moved his lips.
“Mmm I’m okay”
A sheen of sweat made Henrys skin sparkle. Zhou Mi grabbed a towel and wiped off the offending liquid. Henry closed his eyes enjoying the feel of the cold towel against his skin. Zhou Mi clenched the towel hard in his hand and placed his head face down on the couch near Henrys shoulder.
“Zhou Mi?”
“I’ll find a cure Henry, I’ll get you better”
A cold hand pressed against Zhou Mis cheek making him look up. Henry watched him with sad eyes. Zhou Mi hated it, Henry was dying and he had no idea how to cure him. Those eyes looking at him softly just made him want to scream. They were so vulnerable, so filled with trust. It made Zhou Mi feel guilty that he couldn’t do anything. Zhou Mi stood up quickly. He needed to find a cure for Henry. Before he could walk away a soft weak hand reached out and grabbed him. The hand shook from the effort.
“Please Mi just stay with me while I sleep. It comforts me knowing that your close by”
Zhou Mis eyes softened. Those silver colour eyes became the soft brown that they used to be when he was mortal. Zhou Mi sat back down stroking Henrys hair.
“Okay, I’ll be right beside you so you can go back to sleep”
A weak smile came across Henrys face and immediately after he closed his eyes he was asleep. Whatever this was, whatever this condition was it was killing Henry and Zhou Mi had no idea how to cure it. All he really wanted to do was go back down to his lab and work on a cure for Henry. But he couldn’t do that because Henry had asked him to stay beside him. Zhou mi sighed.
Zhou Mi just grew more and more restless as time progressed. His finger twitched with the need to be working with all those molecules and chemicals he had down in his lab. Then the thought hit him. It never occurred for him to trying it because there was always the risk that Henry would wake up.
Desperate times called for desperate measures. Using his abilities Zhou Mi hovered the couch in the air and followed behind it. He was very careful to keep the couch as steady as possible so as not to wake the sleeping Henry. Slowly they descended down into the very heart of the house. Zhou Mi closed the door softly behind him a set Henry down in a corner of the room. Close by so that he could reach Henry easy but also far enough that the noise would disturb Henrys slumber
This was where Zhou Mi spent most of his time nowadays, looking for a cure that would help Henry. He lost track of how long he stayed up working. His eyes burned from the lack of sleep he had been getting ever since they realised something was wrong. Sometimes his eyes would drop down just wanting to give his body the rest it craved and needed. From behind him a groan sounded. Zhou Mi placed the two beakers and conical flask he had been using down on the bench and moved towards Henry. Those eyes fluttered towards him just as he got to Henrys side.
“Hey how are you feeling?”
Zhou Mi fought the urge to bit his lip. It was such a stupid question even now just looking at Henry he could tell that even more colour had faded from his skin. Henry gave him a small smile trying to hide the pain that he felt. Zhou Mi didn’t come up with a cure that day, or the day after. A month past and still Zhou Mi had found no cure.
Zhou mi sat with his head in his hands. In front of him Henry lay on a mattress that was placed on the floor, Henrys weird request. Henry was so pale his skin was the colour of dusty white calk. He could only stay awake from little increments of time which he always seemed to be in extreme pain. Zhou Mis eyes ached, throughout the last month he had been surviving just on two hours of sleep a day and that was only when Henry begged him to stay by his side and sleep next to him.
Zhou Mi sighed a tired sigh and rubbed his blood shot eyes. A jolt ran through his head and he jumped up. Shit how could he not notice before. Zhou mi ran to the front door. There was someone here. He knew it even though his door bell hadn’t rung. Zhou Mi opened the front door and in a quick movement his blade was pressing against their throat.
Siwon held his hands up in a non threatening manner. Zhou Mi rolled his eyes and moved back taking his blade away from Siwons throat.
“What are you doing here Siwon. I won’t let you so much as lay a finger on Henry”
Zhou Mis eyes glared down at Siwon daring him to try anything. Siwon put a reassuring smile on his face.
“Don’t worry I’m not here for Henry. Besides he’s perfectly fin...”
Siwons words trailed off and he glanced at the building behind him. The silence seemed to scream. Zhou Mis eyes widened in horror. Henry. Zhou Mi ran back into the house not caring that Siwon was following him. He burst through the door. Henrys heart beat had slowed right down. Zhou Mi ran pick Henry up in his arms.
“Henry, Henry open your eyes. Please”
Those eyes opened slowly but even then it seemed to take a lot out of him. Siwon leaned against the door frame just watching them. Zhou Mi wiped the sweat off Henrys face. A small smile came on the others face.
“Zhou Mi...I’m so tired...I just want to sleep”
Henrys eyes slowly started to close. Zhou Mi could feel his heart slowly ceasing to beat. He took Henry in his arms. Henrys head rested against his chest.
“Henry please open your eyes. I’ll cure you, I’ll find a cure you...”
Henrys eyes opened slowly. A shaky hand came up and pressed itself soft against Zhou Mis cheek.
“I love you”
Zhou Mis eyes widened and he felt them become watery. Henrys words were so sincere. He had no doubt that Henry did in fact love him and that made hurt even more. Henry mumbled something that sounded like “i’m ready” before closing his eyes. Zhou Mis hands trembled slightly shaking Henry. From the corner of his eyes he saw Siwon bend down, fingers grazing against Henrys arm. Zhou Mi felt and heard Henrys heart as it beat on last time. The hand that had been pressed against his cheek fell limp.
Zhou Mi pressed his hand against Henrys cheek holding his body tightly to his. Tears fell from his eyes continuously. Never again would Henry complain about his cheating in chess. Never again would he see those cheeks puff out when he tried to act cute. All these things that had been daily occurrences, things that he had taken for granted, where gone.
Siwon got up and walked out of the room giving Zhou Mi his space to grieve over the loss of someone who had been so dear to him. He only got to the door way when Zhou Mi spoke.
“You knew this was going to happen, didn’t you”
Siwon sighed but didn’t turn around to face him.
“Honestly I didn’t, he wasn’t one of mine”
“You’re lying! Why else would you have come here!”
Siwon pulled a white envelop out of his pocket. It was this letter that had actually been the reason why he had come here. He placed it on the table next to the door. Zhou Mis back was turned to him as he remained holding onto the body of the recently deceased man.
“A letter written by Heechul while he saw still alive. He asked me to give it to you before he died”
Zhou Mi nodded not that Siwon could see it. Honestly right then and there he didn’t care.
“You know that this means war. The next time I see you...I won’t hesitate to kill you Siwon”
“I know...”
