"Congrats Mr. Cho, the merger with Lee Industries Inc. was a success," replied the secretary as she handed Mr. Cho the contract that had been signed that morning, merging the two companies into one.
"You shouldn't be congratulating me, it was my son who convinced Mr. Lee to merge with us. Without him, this wouldn't be possible" answered a smiling Mr. Cho, waving the contract in the air.
"He really is the best choice," complimented the secretary, when suddenly someone knocked on the door.
"Father it's me," came a familiar voice from behind.
"Ahh speak of the devil. Come in son," replied Mr. Cho as his son, Kyuhyun, entered.
"Congratulations Mr. Cho," bowed the secretary.
"Thank you Ms. Kim, you may leave now," answered Kyuhyun as she bowed and left.
"Well, you've done it again my boy, another successful merger. At this rate, we're going become Korea's most powerful business empire!" exclaimed the older man.
"I'm glad you're pleased with my work Father," answered Kyuhyun as he showed his gratitude through a bow.
"Any father would be pleased when his son exceeds his expectations," bellowed Mr. Cho, patting his son's back.
"So, what's next on our agenda?" asked the son as they both took a seat.
"Well, with the merger between our company and the Lees done, we have decided that it's about time we expand beyond Korea. With our current position, I'm positive we'll find an investor whose willing to invest in our projects."
"We?" questioned Kyuhyun.
"As the board of executives. Therefore your mother and I will be leaving tonight for Japan, as we'll be starting there first," answered Mr. Cho.
"How long will you be gone?"
"We'll be in Japan for a month, then we're setting off for Europe and possibly America as well, so it'll be about 3 or 4 months," replied the older man.
"I see. Then, I'll do my best to manage things here during your absence," answered the son.
"I know you will, you're my son after all, just look at what you've gotten us today. Make me proud alright?"
"Yes, of course Father," answered the son.
"Excellent. Well, we're done for the day, so you can head home first. Ara should be back by now, so you'll have some company at home."
"Then, I'll take my leave first." replied Kyuhyun as he bowed and left the office for his car.
---------------------
"Teukie-umma I'm home!" called Kyuhyun as he walked through the door.
"Already? Then come in here, I'll prepare dinner for the two of you then!" called his housekeeper.
"Master Cho, let me take your things upstairs," came his butler from the living room.
"Thank you Kangin-sshi," replied Kyuhyun as he handed his jacket and briefcase over to the man.
"Mmmm, Umma that smells really good. What is it?" questioned Kyuhyun as he peeked over the brown-haired man. The shorter man looked up and shooed the younger one to the table.
"You know my rules, no peeking into my pot. You'll find out soon enough," snapped Leeteuk the housekeeper.
"Alright, alright, I'll go sit down," laughed Kyuhyun as he made his way to the table. He sat down, only to have his bottom meeting the floor.
"Aish! Noona you're 26 already, do me a favor and stop doing that to my poor butt!" snapped Kyuhyun at his older sister, Cho Ara.
"What, I can't help it if I miss my little brother and his squishy butt," piped Ara from behind his chair.
"Well my butt doesn't miss you that's for sure!"
"Oh pipe down you two. The house has been too quiet for too long, and now that you're both home, it's too noisy!" snapped Leeteuk as he set down two bowls in front of them.
"Anyway, how long are you staying noona? Not too long I hope," replied Kyuhyun with a smirk as his sister chucked a napkin at him, which he dodged.
"Well, it's your loss, cuz I'm not leaving Korea for, I don't know, 4 or 5, maybe 6 months, so we're stuck together for a while," answered Ara.
"Great timing too, mother and father are leaving for another business trip, and they'll be gone for months again, so we have the house to ourselves," added Kyuhyun.
"Like you said, great timing. Just when I got home too. And to think we could be a family again, for once."
"Noona, try to understand. They're trying to expand the company, since we finally merged with the Lees."
Ara sighed. If there's one thing her brother was, he was exactly like her father; the family business comes first.
"You sound more like appa by the minute. I wonder if my baby brother still exists in you or not."
"Noona, what are you saying? I"m still here."
"Yeah you are, but you're not yourself anymore. You used to be playful, but now you're all business and what not." With that said, Ara left the dinner table and headed upstairs.
Kyuhyun sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. Frustrated he too left the dinner table. Leeteuk poked his head into the dining room, expecting to find the Cho siblings eating together, but instead was greeted by an empty room.
"Huh, not much of an appetite I guess," Leeteuk says to himself as he cleared the dinner table.
---------------------------
Kyuhyun flopped onto his bed, staring up at the ceiling as he tried to process what his sister just said.
"Not playful anymore? I'm the heir to the company, of course I can't be playful anymore!" he snapped to himself. He sat up and looked to his nightstand, where a picture of him and his ex-boyfriend, Zhoumi, stood by itself. Zhoumi. His boyfriend, no his lover, the one person who gave meaning to his life, who brought him happiness and smiles and now...heart break. Kyuhyun held the picture, tracing Zhoumi's features with his fingers. His red bands, big eyes, sharp nose, and his favorite, his smile. That million-watt smile that could even shame the sun.
"I guess there's one reason why I'm not playful anymore," he told himself as he laid back down, clutching the picture to his chest.
Mimi, where are you? were his final thoughts as he closed his eyes, not noticing the single tear drop that ran down his cheek.

A/N: I wanted to get this up sooner, but with all the error messages I kept from LJ due to server problems, it took me longer than I wanted to. Anyway, this part's kinda short and boring, and I apologize for that. This is my first chaptered fic, so it's taking me time to think of ideas and putting them together.
Until then, happy reading!
