Harvey looks up, face somewhere between irritation and wary amusement as Mike prances into his office and perches himself on the edge of the desk. Mike beams down at Harvey, knots his legs together and gives his best wink.
"What have you done?" Harvey asks bluntly.
"Neil Adams? Got him." Mike leans in, pushing Harvey's neatly organised paperwork aside and lowering his voice. "Also, we're dating."
Harvey raises his eyebrows and almost laughs. "Oh?"
Mike pulls back and slides off the desk. "For some time now, in fact." He spins around and waves through the glass at Neil, their newest client, pride oozing from his pores. "It's our one-year anniversary this Saturday."
"He's gay," Harvey says.
"Correct."
Harvey's lips quirk up at one side, ever so slightly. "And it wasn't enough for just you to be playing gay in all this?"
"Of course not," Mike grins. "So, dinner?"
"Get out," Harvey says pleasantly.
"Dinner it is," Mike replies, sauntering out of the room. "See you later, honey," he adds at the last second, waggling his fingers over his shoulder as he closes the door behind him.
Harvey just shakes his head.

He explains it all to Rachel for a number of reasons: 1) He likes her, and 2) Everyone already knows anyway and it mostly just comes up in general conversation. It's not like it's a big deal, and he's sure it's not going to be, but there's that strange moment where Rachel is silent and contemplative like she's imagining the possibility of Harvey and Mike being together, and Mike has to tell her Oh god, stop that, while she laughs and laughs at his expense.
"But good job," she says. "Just as long as you don't get found out this time around."
There's a weight to that comment that Mike doesn't want to deal with now, so he leaves her office, mumbling about paperwork, and makes his way back to his own desk.
Hah, dinner.
#
"No."
Mike opens his mouth to speak but is cut off again.
"We are not having god damn dinner," Harvey tells him.
Mike shifts his weight to his left foot. "It's with the--"
"No."
"With the client!" Mike takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly. Sometimes it's so bloody difficult to get a word in. He shifts his weight back to the other foot.
Harvey is silent for a long while.
"We thought Vietnamese?"

"This restaurant is divine," Neil gushes, eagerly navigating another piece of lemongrass chicken to his mouth with chopsticks.
Mike, on the other hand, knocks a chopstick to the ground and is forced to use a fork the entire meal. Oh, yeah, damn. Totally an accident. "We came here once before," he tells Neil, placing a hand lightly on Harvey's upper arm. "For our six-month, actually." He turns to Harvey and gives him a small smile, and Harvey weakly smiles back.
Neil melts a little in his seat as he munches his chicken enthusiastically. "It's great that you're out at work," he says once he's swallowed the mouthful. "I admire that."
"It wasn't easy at first," Mike continues, bullshit slipping off his tongue almost too easily. "Was it, sweetie?" he asks Harvey, trying not to burst out laughing as Harvey sputters his response.
"Oh, no." Harvey shakes his head.
"But a year this Saturday! How time flies." He twists his lips into a giddy smile and presses a kiss to Harvey's cheek. The weird nagging thought that he could get used to this is highly unwelcome, and Mike shoves it away hastily.
But he still catches the way Harvey's mouth pulls into a real, almost private smile, and he thinks maybe it's time he did some melting of his own. Neil is definitely onto something.
"You two are adorable," Neil says seriously, and Mike can feel his skin heat up.
He takes Harvey's hand in his, twining their fingers together, but then realises it's under the table and that it's not like Neil can see anyway. But Harvey doesn't let go and Mike's heart speeds up just a fraction and he kisses the corner of Harvey's lips.
He'll pass it off as part of the job tomorrow. If Harvey lets him.
