Busy times....
Yesterday was long and boring and I got a bit depressed, which isn't like me at all. But then John came home from Switzerland I think I was just very lonely.
Anyhoo......
it's work that's busy, because we're getting ready for after christmas now. Our company is famous in the UK for taking back unwanted christmas presents, so the refunds desk is heaving from the day after christmas onwards. We have to get prepared in advance and it's not helped by having to give the whole desk over to foods in the run up to christmas. I think I described this last year, but for the new buddies, here it is again! (sorry old buddies!).
You can order christmas food in our store for several weeks before xmas (I'm sick of writing chri....bla), and from monday onwards, the customers come to collect it. The foods dept take over the whole of the refunds dept for that time. We have to move every rail, every item of clothing, every order, every bit of paperwork, every hanger...you get the picture. They install three huge fridges where we normally hang the clothes and we have to move, lock, stock and barrel over to lingerie for three days. Then the day before xmas, we have to move the whole bloody lot back again. Not my idea of fun!
I think we've lost the 65 year old now. I'm getting fed up with this! It means we'll be short staffed for xmas. I tried VERY hard with her but she just wouldn't stop being negative. I don't think she'd have been good even if she did finally get the hang of the till.
I need a nice, new Simpsons sig for Ives board. Ideas people please! :-)
