so i'm watching Portlandia. this is something i've wanted to do for a while, and i'm very happy to be seeing it finally.
i'm on episode 3, and the dumpster diving bit. they keep on saying "it's a perfectly good n" where n = thing.
when i was in Portland in 1999, i heard the words "i can't believe the security guard made me throw it back in the dumpster! IT WAS A PERFECTLY GOOD SANDWICH." from a crust punk talking to her crust friends at the Greyhound station, as i was walking out of it after my trip back from Seattle. this was the first and last time of my life i heard this sequence of words together out of the mouth of a human.
that was always _the_ defining moment of Portland for me.
i know Portland is more than that, but for fucking shitchrist's sake i wish i could remember something else.
