I know some truly beautiful people...Rachel and Marisa are too cool for words. They let me come over to their apartment unannounced! I'm so loved!
On the other hand, I'm not too thrilled. The last few days have been crappy. Really crappy. I don't feel like talking to a particular person, so now I'm labeled with having the 'ex-girlfriend attitude'. Bah-humbug. This is what I get for stretching myself too thin--financially, emotionally, physically. And its that easy...the bucket has fallen. I feel an emptiness, almost naked..but there's a weight that has been lifted. It's going to be grueling..and I'm not quite sure what to expect. I almost feel like history is repeating itself--and it's not my doing this time.
I wonder if this means I'll be going back to Europe?!
I ran some errands around town. One being to stop by the Tattoo clinic off of governement. My mission? I've always wanted to get my nose pierced--and I decided to do just that! This guy named Wade pierced my nose. A little pinch, teary eyes and a warm sensation later...He was so cool! He had one too many facial peircings..but the guy was young, and he explained how to clean and take care of the piercing. Plus he gave me a ring that I can come back later and have him put in--for free!! One of the other tattoo artistes took a picture of us. What a grand experience!
Wondering around Baton Rouge yesterday was exactly what I needed. Like the first day you realize how beautiful the world is... Sunshine, blue skies, and a much-needed conversation with an old friend back in Washington.
I took some great digitals around the BR waterfront..the fountain by the Planetarium, the old governor's house.. and I walked around with my barefeet. It was too fun--like a young girl realizing the world is within her fingertips..
Later in the evening, I went back to the Planetarium and watched the Lazer show playing Pink Floyd. This lady and her husband sat next to me..and 5 minutes later into the show, she was snoring! So hillarious.. I met this older gal who just started working at the Planetarium.. sweet person. We talked for awhile and she told me her story about moving around with her kids and being a single mom. She liked my nose piercing and she said she had one too--but decided it probably wouldn't be advisable to wear at work. I agreed. I took her number and plan to call her soon--maybe I'll get some female friends to go check out the wine and cheese tasting at the Avoyelle's cafe off of 3rd sometime.
Hmmm. Work is slow, but nice. I only had one interview/survey, so I fulfilled my hour requirment. Next it's off to play (and get paid!) to babysit Julian. Later, Spectrum meeting at CC's. Yay.. back to my favorite queer group. I don't think I can get enough of them!
