XP Read and review! It's my pet project *glomps* I'm currently on Chapter 8, but I've gotten all the way up to Chp 19 before I decided to do a big edit and redo chp 3 on. Here's a short exerpt from what's posted..

I ducked back into the shadows and continued to watch the couple. Something about the woman intrigued me. It could have been her obvious beauty, or maybe it was just her confident manner. She held herself proudly as if she knew she was the most important in this world. There was no trace of wariness or introversion. The thing I noticed most about her was her eyes. They were a deep, deep violet; one could almost get lost in them. Yet her aura didn't seem as light as her eyes. If I could choose a color for it, it would have been void, colorless. She seemed to suck up whatever color was around her. I wondered what this meant as auras were known to be good judges of what one’s personality was like. Did this mean that she had a habit of using people? If so, what was the man to her? He walked slightly behind her and his head was bowed. He was the obedient type, and his steps were hesitant, but from his rigid posture, I surmised that he was holding back. His aura was solid grey with a few swirls of lighter grey mixed in between. I took an immediate dislike to him because of the meaning grey had for me. To myself, I wondered why they didn't mask their auras like I was. Obviously they were beings of great power; otherwise I wouldn't have been able to sense their auras in the first place. Along with this, the grey auras showed that they were masters of their art and represented a skill in ancient forms of magic. Like I always did with new people, I tried to figure out what sect they were from. Shadowed Earth, perhaps, or maybe Shadowed Star. Unfortunately, my aura reading skills were not significant enough to find out, and finally I gave up and turned back to their conversation.
"Indeed it does. I heard it has-" his voice turned into a whisper and I had to lean in closer to hear. "I heard the store owner's going to store some pretty rare stuff. Herbs, powders, potions… the likes of that. Maybe even Shira's Tear."
My ears perked up at that. Shira's Tear was a rare herb I was searching for, one that I hoped would cure my cousin's blindness. If the said store stocked it, news concerning my missing cousin could wait. I had to check out the store for the sake of my living one.
The woman flipped her shiny black hair over her shoulders and laughed. "Too bad for him he won't suspect... visitors. This shop sounds like what we've been looking for. I say we check it out." She smirked and I could feel myself disliking her intensely despite my earlier interest in her. Which, I reminded myself, wasn't even real interest. It had only been objective studying. Looking closer, I saw that the red of her dress was an extremely rich hue. She had to be from a wealthy family, so why would she want to steal? She had to be able to buy it. Shopkeepers needed income, too; why rob of them of that? Was stealing even what they were planning? I was not as good as my cousin was at interpreting others, but this seemed to be what the pair was hinting at.
I watched the two of them silently. The truth was that I didn't really care about what happened to the shop owner. It was just something I thought of. If he was attacked or robbed because of the stores he had for sale, it would be his own fault. He should have known better than to sell them. But if his stores were destroyed, where would I be? My cousin still depended on me, and the shopkeeper's wares sounded most interesting. If he had that one powdered herb I was seeking, I owed it to Justice to do my best to obtain that powder. She needed it after all, and I had promised her brother I would look after her.
