It was a long trip but we have finally returned. It was good to see Obel again but I must admit, that I did miss this place while I was gone.
It felt good to be out on the open sea again. I was so excited about going to Obel, however, that I hadn't even realized that it would be Obel of the future that Trishtan and I would be seeing. Thankfully, Kika had followed us just to remind me of the certain repercussions if I continued sailing to Obel on my ship and in my uniform. I am ashamed of my lack of foresight but at least, disaster was prevented. We continued to Obel on Kika's ship and I in civilian clothes. It was ... strange to be sailing on a pirate ship. I'm just glad that Kika promised she wouldn't conduct any of her affairs while Trishtan and I were on board.
Obel has changed a lot, since my time, but it was to be expected. It has been, what, 31 or so years since then? I know that it is even more different for Trishtan. But at least, they have retained much of the historical buildings and landmarks.
While I went there to see my homeland again, I also wanted to see if I could learn about the brother I never knew. Well, that wasn't too hard to find out for it seems that the eldest child of my parents - Ferid Egan - has made quite the name for himself and all unbenownst to me. It turns out that he left home right before I was born, when he was about 16. He travelled some before he eventually found his way to ... Falena where he ... participated in the Sacred Games and ... won. As the champion, he married Falena's Crown Princess Arshtat and they eventually had two children together.
I was shocked to learn this as this brings to light the fact that I have a niece and nephew. And it was rather saddening as well, considering the fate that my brother met. I wanted to learn about him in in the hopes that I will meet him one day but it can no longer be.
I'm rather angry at my father now for not telling me himself. I know he knew. He's not a naive fool.
