After talking with Cray, Tir took Kit-Kit over to the inn as promised, with his plans to order some tools and parts to fix up the building for his future dojo after this.  He had set most of those that had appeared in the nearest inn to the fountain, where he went to the room he had reserved for Luc.  They still haven't talked much, but either this ( Read more... )

Luc was seated in the inn, casually sipping hot tea. His eyes fell on Tir as he entered, and then on the girl who had accompanied him. She had a very odd appearance, and could have passed for Sarah's sister. He says nothing.

Definitely uneasy, Kit-Kit followed Tir into the room where she tried to remain slightly off to the side. While she did see him, his face, eyes and even his hair was reminiscent of Hikusaak. Kit's eyes were a pale shade of pink and her hair was as white as snow, her feature were delicate that she could pass for Sarah's sister.

Sarah had slept a good portion of the day after they arrived whenever Luc had fallen asleep. While she stood there, she noticed this other girl, who seemed to look very similar to her a Tir and Luc looked similar to themselves in a way. That bothered her for some reason.

Seeing that he said nothing, she broke silence first,"....From what do we owe the pleasure?"

"Sorry if I'm interrupting anything important Luc, but I was wondering if you can help this young lady here. Her name's Kit-Kit Winterus, and she's looking for a friend from Harmonia. I figured since I heard from Riou that you're from Harmonia, you might know a few people, at the very least." Tir replied with a smile, as if he weren't aware of Luc's recent deeds in the Grasslands.

She couldn't wait, she couldn't sit by and just think about what she was going to say. In a bit of excitement and stupidity, she pulled off her hood so she was fully in view of the others near her. Kit-Kit wore a old headband that had a strange symbol on it, definitely something Sindar but for the people who were normal and didn't know it, it would be just a symbol.

She approached Luc directly, even though she was untrusting, she had to know,"Can I see your forehead?" The tone was very soft, but polite and stern.

Luc's eyebrows narrowed at Tir's ignorance. "Yes, McDohl, I was quite the social butterfly from my isolated cell in the Circle Palace," Luc said, his shoulders tensing somewhat. Luc then turned to the woman accompanying him. Her purple eyes, along with the headband, made it seem like seem like she was a Sindar, but... no, that was impossible. Her question, though, made Luc visibly angry. "You think I am my father?" he asked. He brushed his bangs to the side, revealing only a Pale Gate Rune. "Were it up to me, He would be dead."

Kit-Kit was on edge, waiting to see if the rune symbol was on his forehead, just like her own was. When his bangs were swept aside, she looked disappointed but made only a delicate frown,"Oh..I was not out right looking for him to be perfectly honest. I thought I saw him and this young man helped me is all.... --" There were many more questions she wanted to ask, but his hard surface, like his father, often kept Kit-Kit from asking even simplest of questions.

Taking a step back, she moved her pink eyes in the direction of Tir.

Tir was surprised with what he heard from Luc; not the isolation he faced in Harmonia, but the hatred towards his own father. "Luc! How could you say that about your father? I don't know what happened between you two, but your father cares about you, no matter what happens." Memories of Tir's own father, Teo, flooded his head as well. They were close as they could be, given Teo's position as General, and there was never malice towards him, even during that faithful duel.

"Don't be ridiculous," Luc said, reaching for his glove. With a quick motion, the Velcro strap was undone, and his glove was off, revealing his glowing True Wind Rune. "This was why Hikusaak saw to my creation in the first place. This is all that I am to Him. When my creation was found to be imperfect, he saw to creating Sasarai, while leaving me to rot in the Circle Palace for fear that I would lose control of my Rune."

There was no point in hiding the truth about his birth; even Sasarai knew about it by now, and likely, so did the inner circle of Harmonia. Telling the truth about himself would now only serve to damage Harmonia's reputation.

"That is when the Seeress Leknaat saw to my freedom. The rest, as you are aware, is history."

Tir stood dumbfounded from Luc's revelation for a moment. "You're saying...Hikusaak...is your father?" He shook his head, still processing the rest of Luc's story. "It doesn't make any sense."

Resting her hand on Luc's wrist, she tempted to stop him from speaking in such a way to a good friend,"Master, you should not be upset at your friend, he does not understand." Looking to Tir first, she stated,"Luc is a father in the most simplest way by blood relations but there is no actual bond other than that. Luc is a copy of Hikusaak's image, this is advanced Sindar alchemy that was used. Luc does not have a mother." Sarah slowly moved her eye to this strange girl that seemed to know more than she was letting on.

Tir's dumbfoundedness gave way to confusion as Sarah's explanation only further confused him. "What? I'm sorry, I don't understand."

"In essence," Luc said quietly, "I am nothing more than a living vessel for the True Wind Rune, created in His image."

"That's stupid!" Tir cried out. "Stop this nonsense! You're not a container! There's better places to put a True Rune than in a person, Luc, believe me. He didn't want a container, he wanted a son! Why else would you be standing here talking to me?"

The moment his voice got loud, he widened her eyes, she'd never heard someone shout like him before. Kit-Kit saw this as honest emotion, barely expressed by humans in such a way. In hopes of calming his frustration, Kit-Kit lightly touched his arm and hooked hers with his,"...Tir?" She tried to settle him, if possible with a calm voice.

"Is... being much too loud." Sierra appended her own thought to the name with a yawn as she descended the stairs to the common room. One of her eyebrows arched ceilingward. "Some of us are trying to sleep, you know."

Though of course in Sierra's case it scarcely needed to be said. 'Trying to sleep' was her default position in unlife.

"...who's this?" She asked as her eyes settled on the one whose speech she'd borrowed. She looked... familiar.
