(no subject)
Just a quick Friday update to my LJ peeps.
The year feels like it's flying by. Things have been really busy- slowly but surely I'm taking care of the stuff I wanted to. The house is virtually ready to sell- I just need to find time to get to a realtor. Kaytee graduated from college this past weekend and was home for the week and yesterday I had a dentist appointment and suddenly it's Friday. It's a three day weekend though, so no more excuses! It's finishing touches and realtor time!
Thankfully the roomies have a couple apartments that have said they will let them move in, so they should be settled and safe long before there's a risk of the house selling out from under them. (Not that I'd ever let them be homeless, but still it'll be a great stress relief).
Sean and I have been plugging away at Japanese lessons and our diets. He's working so hard it's totally inspiring. (I'm 0.8 away from being down 30. Woo Hoo!) I've been giving my homework the short end of the stick when it comes to free time, but I'm totally in the mood to study so once the house is officially on the market I'm hoping to replace all the time that went to repairs with a better study routine. All I'm really doing at this point is trying to increase my vocabulary and my poor tired brain just isn't having it. Trying to remember which random sounds correspond to which random words in English is a lot harder than it should be for me. I figure I need to get back to studying kanji. Kanji are the link between sound and meaning and make it a heck of a lot easier to learn new words. I only know about 500 of the main 2,000 so I definitely have room to improve...
Anyway, sorry for the boring update! Now you can see why I haven't been posting too often! That's really all that's been happening. I'm definitely looking forward to June which will hopefully be a lot less stressful for me and my friends.
