Coughed up half of my paycheck to the B&N Criterion DVD sale this morning. Bought Pierrot le Fou, Contempt, and The 400 Blows. Tarran wanted to have a french film night so I brought my movies, and she invited a bunch of people. Joe, Tim, Maggie, Heather, and that Lauren girl were there. Tarran really wanted to watch Pierrot le Fou first. The citerion print was a lot better than the VHS, and I liked some of the translation better. Tarran enjoyed the whimsical nature of it, but most were silent, meh, and confused :/. It was at this point that Maggie and Heather decided to leave. We were going to jump into Contempt after that, but I suggested that The 400 Blows would be a better choice. I've felt the film is a very accessible hard to dislike film, though perhaps I was wrong. It's possible that it's just because it ended at 3, but everyone just looked so dead after the movie :(. Tarran even fell asleep. My film tastes are very isolating. It was great that I had the opportunity to share films that I love with a bunch of people, but its upsetting that no one else relates to them the same way I do. I feel as though they're having trouble relating to and understanding myself when everyone experiences the film this way.
In other news a job opened up in framing at Tarrans Michaels but can't go since I'm carless..
