It is the month when the flowers are blooming and children become lazy because the summer is near. In fact, I would say that most people become a bit more lazy. Instead of work, they feel as if they should lounge about. Or perhaps, people would rather be up and out to enjoy the nice days before they become blazing hot.
My personal favorite thing to do is see the sakura trees. Since the festivals are usually in April or the summer, I find it to be much more peaceful around this time. Now that I recall, I tired to hang myself by a sakura tree...But one of my students told me it was too much of a perfect day to die. I would have preferred to die, but it was nice to see the trees again.
I wonder what others enjoy most about May.
Edit: Ah, Mashiro-San! I almost forget to mention this! The weather is perfect for doing dramatic viewings of poems. I wonder if anybody else would want to join us..
