Aoi’s castle was something like I’d never seen before. It was much bigger then mine and I could hardly believe the size of his bed, “How can you sleep in something so huge?” I asked amazed.
He smiled, “I deal with it. It does get lonely though…” he admitted with a sigh. “Please sit down. Want anything to drink?”
“Um…water is fine…I’m not allowed wine at home.”
“Ah but my dear Kai, this isn’t home now is it?” he asked with a slight smirk as he opened a bottle of wine, “I think you’ll like this one. This is my favorite. Here try it.”
I looked at the glass of tempting red liquid and took it shyly, “Thank you.”
“Oh no problem. Try it.”
I took a breath then took a sip. At first the taste was awful but the second sip sent a warm tingly feeling through my body and I wondered if maybe Aoi was trying to get me drunk. He smiled, “Don’t worry Kai. I won’t take advantage of you if you get wasted. I may kiss you though.”
As I took another sip, I hoped that was the case, “What if I want you to kiss me now?” I asked with a small hiccup. Aoi chuckled and took the glass from my hand, setting it on the desk. He then sat beside me on his bed and smiled warmly at me, “You’re too cute Kai. I don’t know why we never met sooner. We could have been great friends. Tell me about yourself.”
Cute? I most certainly was not cute but I ignored the words and nodded, “Me? Well I’ve been learning cooking from our chef. Mama wants me to be an independent prince. I think she always knew I’d never rule a kingdom…papa always said I should have been a girl rather then a boy.”
“If you were a girl, you wouldn’t be allowed in m bedroom, let alone on my bed. I guarantee that. Women turn me off big time.”
I looked at him curiously before continuing, “Well I’ve never had a relationship mainly because my parents are afraid I’d mess it up and end up causing a war between nations…which we really don’t need. See my kingdom is nothing like this. Our castle is much smaller and until I was five, I slept in the same room as my parents.”
“WHAT?! No way!” Aoi exclaimed, “you’re kidding me right?”
“No…it’s the truth.”
“Holy crap…I’ll talk to my dad about sending over some help.”
“Oh no you can’t! I mustn’t let you.”
“Kai please. If we’re going to go out, which I hope to god that we will, I want to help you.”
I bit my lip, “…but it’s so humiliating knowing that I can’t do anything…that I have to rely on other people for help.”
“Sweetie, that’s life. You ask for help and whether you get it or not is another story.”
I looked down with a sigh, “I know…but I was raised not to ask for help from anyone.”
“Well now you’ll learn to ask for it.” Aoi said standing up, “Would you like your drink back?”
“I’ll get it.” I said moving to stand.
“Ah ah. What did I just say?”
I blushed and sat back down, “…Yes please.”
Aoi smiled, “Good boy.” He handed me my glass again and I took a few more sips of the wine. I was beginning to get a little tipsy. It was a pleasant feeling and I quiet enjoyed it. Within no time, my glass was empty. Aoi had a smile on his face as he took it from my hand. He set it down again and leaned close to my face, “How do you feel?”
“…Light…and tingly”
“Heh. Did you like it?”
“Yea.”
Aoi smiled and cupped my face with one hand before leaning in and kissing me lightly. I didn’t pull away mainly because I liked the warm feeling that was running through me. My arms wrapped around Aoi’s neck and he smiled against my lips before pulling his head back, “Come…let’s get you to bed.”
“But I don’t want to sleep.” I protested.
“I’m not going to use you while you’re tipsy. You’ll only regret it later.” He said pulling my hands away from his neck, “On your birthday is when I shall make you mine.”
“Promise?” I asked, getting drowsy.
“I promise…my sweet little Kai.” He whispered in my ear as I drifted to sleep without realizing that Aoi had just stolen my first kiss.
