"Shiosai-chan" was at first only intended to be a temporary title, but it ended up becoming the official title instead. The lyrics of this song uses a strong Hakata dialect from Fukuoka prefecture, which is vocalist Kusano Masamune's hometown.
I find the story of the song to be funny, and the song is very cheerful and upbeat and reminds me of Spitz's "Hoshi no Kakera/Crispy" days. I think it's about a person who made the mistake of being friendly to everyone and is now desperately trying (and failing) to run away from an annoying and unpredictable person called "Shiosai-chan" who torments his life and refuses to let go.
Shioisai is a japanese word used to describe the roar of the ocean.
I was behaving with a group mentality I keep on being fooled by your rotating words I just want to quit at the 'x' mark that's burnt black At this point
I want to fly I want to fly I want to fly away I want to fly I want to fly I want to fly away
If I can't wake up from this nightmare, even for a little while I want to breathe in the scent of the ordinary wind again This shimmering and fancy world Simply deserves to be made fun of
At that time even the spirits were crying Clapping hands in time with the beat The lucky candidate for a quarrel is
In an oddly maniac-like poor village I licked and tasted nectar for the first time If I were to know that I'm still hanging in there
That I'd never die never die never die That I'd never die never die never die
If only there's anything that is worthwhile For just this moment, will you really, please, just leave me alone? On my own, I want to push the same old boring boat off the coast
I saw your spiky haircut by dumb luck And it's good to show a smile from time to time But now I want your turnabout games to go away
