The wide green field was refreshing enough to calm the boy down. The day of the competition is only two days away. What if he fails? no, he cannot lose, he must win. It's the competition that he must win.
He must win.
'Haha! Loser, don't think that you're always the one leading up forever,' the words of looking down echoed onside his brain.
Nishikido Ryo.
Ever since he joined the baseball team, he have always win every single competition, sparing no mercy on his opponents. But yet, the upcoming competition does not seems to be the case; This time, the competition is not that simple. It was a challenge.
Apparantly, some guys were looking down on Ryo, and wanted to beat him up, saying that his attitude pissed them off. They started blabbering every possible horrible words to Ryo and that was when he snapped, and declare a challenge to them.
A baseball challenge.
Ryo sat on the field, as he gazed up towards the azure blue sky. Infinity, the sky was endless. Just when he was about to doze off, a bunch of students were walking towards him, holding rods and metal sticks on their hand, that could be found at the garbage center round the corner. Without any warning, they came charging towards Ryo mercilessly, screaming and shouting for his life. "GET HIM!!!"
Ryo stood up and ran away, one of them caught up, and aiming towards Ryo's lower part of the leg, he gave a big hit with the metal stick he had in hand. The pain overtook Ryo's body, and he toppled down onto the floor. Using his both hands, he clutched his leg, in pain. Blood were starting to flow out continuously from the area where his leg got hit.
"HEY! What do you think you are doing!?" A voice shouted across the field. "Busted! RUN!" the bunch of boys shouted, and dropping their weapons, they ran away, leaving Ryo lying on the field, clutching his leg.
A figure came running towards Ryo, slowly it became visible. It was the younger boy. "Ryo! Are you alright!?"
Ryo looked up, "Yama..pi.." Ryo mumbled, and finally, Ryo fainted, with Yamapi catching him into his arms in the nick of the time.
When Ryo woke up, he was in the hospital, his leg was wrapped up. Right beside him, Yamapi was holding onto his hand, asleep with this head beside the bed.
"Ryo?" Yamapi stuttered, when there was a slight fidget and Yamapi woke up, realising that Ryo was already awoken, and that one of his hands was patting Yamapi's head. Yamapi met Ryo's eyes.
"What's wrong with my leg?" Ryo asked.
"The doctor said that the ligament that joined the bone had broken. So you will need to stay here for sometimes for the operation,"
"NO! what.. what about my competition!? It's only two days later!" Ryo shouted, unable to accept the reality, or that, he didn't want to accept it.
"They're cheap!" Ryo shouted.
"Ryo..."
"Pi, help me, please!"
Yamapi got up and hugged Ryo. He didn't bear to see Ryo suffering this much, and yet he could do nothing to help him. It's okay, Ryo, You will be fine. Yamapi wanted to say all these words to Ryo, but he knew that it doesn't seemed to suit the situation right now. Yes, right now where Ryo was so agitated.
"Ryo, listen. There is not a need to go for the competition, cancel it,"
Ryo was stunned. But yet, he felt warmth from Yamapi's body as he slowly placed his hands behind the back of Yamapi's. "Is there really, not a need to, Pi?"
"Yea, you are already my winner, Ryo,"
Ryo hugged Yamapi tighter,"Yea, you're right. Having you, I've already win the whole bunch of them," Ryo muttered. Yamapi tightened his hug. He will never let go of Ryo, he will never ever let go of Ryo. This older boy is his life, his only priceless possesion.
Ryo finally fall asleep in the chest of Yamapi's. It was the effect of the medicine. Of course, while he was asleep, a clear smile of happiness was planted on his face.
