“Aiko-chan, is it delicious?” Yamashita’s mother have invited the sibling into the house, and offered to give them breakfast. The young girl beamed, and looked at the middle-aged lady, as she nodded her head. “Yes!”
“Um.. how do I address you?” Ryo asked.
“Tachibana Miyako, nice to meet you, Ryo-kun,” Miyako replied, as she looked at Ryo. Ryo greeted back, “I’m Nisihikido Ryo, this is my sister, Aiko,”
“Nice to meet you, Miyako-chan!” Aiko smiled, as she stuffed a piece of egg into her mouth, as she looked up to Miyako. Miyako smiled, and placed her elbow onto the table, and rested her chin onto her hands.
“Tomo-chan, it’s time for you to go for your work, right?” Miyako looked towards to Yamashita, who was sitting at the living room, gazing out. Yamashita stood up, and looked himself for the last time in the mirror on the floor, before he got ready to leave the house.
“Um, Yama-chan is working? Where?” Ryo blurted out. Miyako smiled, and turned towards Ryo. “He’s working at the nearby convenient store, he found it yesterday,” she said, as she turned around to look at Yamashita.
“OH! At Renko-san’s shop?” Ryo sounded. Miyako just nodded her head, before she turned back to look at Aiko. “Aiko-chan, right?”
Aiko, with a bit of the sausage sticking out from her mouth, nodded her head.
“Ah, Yama-chan, I’m working just beside the shop, let’s go together,” Ryo commented, as he got up, and got ready to leave the house together with Yamashita. “Onii-chan is leaving for work, be a good girl and listen to Miyako-san, understand?” Ryo patted Aiko’s head, and all she did was nodded her head- she was too obsessed with the delicious foods in front of her.
Ryo smiled, although she ignored him.
Yamashita and Ryo then walked out of the house together. Ryo suddenly started to search his pockets, and realized that the item was still intact with him. He smiled- and Yamashita saw.
“What are you smiling at?” Yamashita asked. Ryo turned to him, and gave him the brightest smile Yamashita have ever seen on a human being.
“I thought I have lost something precious, but it’s still with me,” Ryo said, as he started to whistle while he was on his way to work. Yamashita just shrugged his shoulders- a way to show that he wasn’t really interested in his stuffs, unless Ryo himself is willing to tell him. Ryo kept silent of course, he didn’t really wanted to say- at that time.
“Where are you working at?” Yamashita suddenly asked, when they were nearing his work place. Ryo run, and ended up at the fish seller place. “Here, I’m in charge of picking up the fishes from the pond and bringing it to him,” Ryo said, as he pointed to the fish seller.
“His name is Ishida. Everyone here call him Ishi,”
The fish seller smiled, and went back to hack his fishes. Ryo shrugged his shoulders, and started to wear the big-sized gloves. “I’m off, Ishi,”
Ishida nodded his head. Yamashita entered the shop after seeing that Ryo is going off. “Renko-ji-san, I’m here,”
The old man in the shop turned and nodded his head. “Ah, Tomo-chan, start work soon, there, just stand there will do,”
Yamashita listened, and went over to the seat and stood there, awaiting for customers.
He turned, and saw the old man was sleeping on the rocking chair, a newspaper on his hand. Yamashita just shake his head, and turned to observe what the other villagers were doing. Right in his pocket, was a seashell.
“Miyako-chan!” Aiko called out, as she started to run around the whole house. “Come here,” Miyako called out, as she patted onto her thighs. Aiko ran towards her, and hopped onto her lap. “Aiko, right?” she commented. Aiko nodded her head.
“I used to have a daughter whose name was Aiko too, but I can’t find her,” she said, her eyes felt with sorrow.
“Miyako-chan! Don’t be sad! Aiko will be sad too!” Aiko said, as she slapped onto Miyako’s shoulders. Miyako looked up, and smiled.
How nice it is if Aiko is the daughter she’s looking for.
