**Warning don't read if you don't want to know what i truly feel. I will gladly debate any political issue, i would love to in fact, but I will not apologize for anything I believe**
So needless to say I'm very upset about the way the election went. I've cried numerous time since last night when things started looking bad (two of the times were hysterical crying). I can say without exaggeration that Bush represents most of what is wrong with this world. He is a hateful bigot. Among other things, he wants to deny gay people a right because his religion views it as wrong, which is bad enough in itself, but it also implies that he sees gay people as lesser in the eyes of God which is the most hateful thing one could say. His moral world view leaves no room for ambiguity, you are with us or against us, good or evil. The actual world is so much more complex; little is either black or white and just because Bush declares that it is doesn't make it so. But once he has put something into his narrow categories of right and wrong he refuses to even consider that other people's views are valid. Some call this strength I call is foolish stubbornness. (I admit that I, to a lesser extent, show this trait but I an the the president and am not charged with representing the American people.) Dissent is not unpatriotic, in fact there is nothing more American than questioning your leaders. However, Bush projects an attitude that ridicules those who don't agree with him(meaning 48% of the people he is charged with representing.) His fuck you posturing extends to the rest of the world, which only increases anti-American sentiment abroad and makes us less safe. It's okay to think you country is the best but not okay to think that it's so much more advanced that you can make up you're own rules and do whatever the fuck to want.
Also, I'm so scared that Bush will succeed in outlawing abortions. It's not his place to decide what a woman can do with her own body. And if Bush gets his way and abortions are illegal and sex-ed is reduced to abstinence only education (another instance of imposing his religious ideals on the world we might as well out law teaching evolution)there will be more children in this country that our education system can fail. And while he claims to car so much about life all these children ,and other Americans, have to do without proper healthcare or proper nutrition because their parents can't afford to feed them properly. And if they get a disease like Alzheimer's or get paralyzed they may be missing out on a cure because Bush has crippled stem cell research in our country (or maybe there is hope thanks, surprisingly, to Arnold) This ia assuming that we haven't destroyed the environment by then(you know while we're still studying that alleged "global warming" thing.)
Of course there is Iraq. Saddam was a bad man and maybe (just maybe) Bush thought he had WMD but the inspectors were working on that problem. If it was all about WMD what about North Korea. Or if it was about human rights what about North Korea again, or Saudi Arabia, or the genocide in Sudan?
Finally, my problem with Bush is that, despite his verbal gaffes and common jokes about his stupidity, he, or his handlers, are very smart in one way; they know how to manipulate the American people. Bush and his people have turned the presidency into a marketing event. Like advertisers he repeats things that are as far from the truth as one can be without technically lying over and over until the American people believe him. There is something wrong when 60% of the American people think Saddam Husein was directly responsible for the Sept. 11th attacks. Bush purposely misleads the American people and drips with hypocrisy and no one (except the crazy Michael Moore) holds him responsible.
I think these are all the important reasons why Bush is destroying our country. I could write a book on this but this post is long enough as it is. If i have forgotten something feel free to add it on.
