Title
Option to Enable/Disable Customized Comment Pages in Account Settings

Short, concise description of the idea
Allow users to determine for themselves whether they would like to override community and journal settings for customized comment pages while browsing LJ.

Full description of the idea
Individuals read journals with a lot of different devices. Sometimes the width of a screen may make reading entries difficult when customized comment pages are disabled--often the journal layout/style makes the column of actual text narrower and easier to follow. On the other hand, some devices are small and the narrowness of the screen means that the text column is too narrow when customized comment pages are enabled. I propose that users be able to decide for themselves what viewing method works best for them.
An ordered list of benefits
  • - Greater accessibility/readability from a wider range of devices.
  • - Allows users to select the viewing option best for their situation.
An ordered list of problems/issues involved
  • - Last I checked basic accounts do not have the ability to enable customized comment pages. This feature might not be permissible for them. On the other hand, it might encourage some people to upgrade.
