Title
LJ Widget

Short, concise description of the idea
It would be great if LJ users were able to tell their website visitors what's on their LJ by using a something in their site's HTML that automatically updates itself to show the person's three most recent LJ posts.

I'm looking for a "widget" that's actually far simpler than the one described here. The type of widget I'm looking for are used by such sites as LinkedIn, Goodreads, Elance, etc. (For an example of what I mean, see my links page at A Writer's Space: Pamela's Place - Links). Frankly, although these sites refer to their combination of image and HTML as widgets (and some offer widgets with content linked back to content on the site), most of these are really nothing more than an approved image which I can be posted on a webpage that links back to an individual's page within the site. In many ways, these have more in common with the banners LJ offers at http://www.livejournal.com/site/banners.bml than to functional widgets, but involve a smaller, much simpler image ( ... )

I've poked an Actual LJ Employee to try and get you some confirmation on using LJ branding in LJ widgets developed by unofficial sources.

Oh, thank you very much!

I've got an image I've been working on, which would be suitable for use by anyone, and which I would be happy to submit for their approval. Note that I have not yet attempted to use this image, nor have I posted it anywhere; it currently resides only on my hard drive.

I was going to try and wait on the Official Answer before using this, but the icon of mine here was made in honor of one of the new managers, and while I haven't gotten an official response to this icon, the unofficial response involved a whole lot of laughter and some ganking.

It's cool to use LJ images, and the employee was going to try and see if they have a repository of official images for easy use, but I will probably have to collar her again once Monday comes around, since she hasn't responded here yet.

Fun!

The weird thing is, what I really want to do is advertise my connection with LiveJournal in a way that benefits us both. But, I'm still sensitive to the awareness that many companies reasonably feel a need to control their corporate images to prevent their use in ways that might damage them, so I do want some kind of Official Approval, before I move forward. It just seems the most reasonable course of action.

Once again, thanks for all your help.

Yes, for things like that, you are completely welcome to use the logo. I'm sorry it took so long to respond!
