Title
Take Ownership button in communities

Short, concise description of the idea
We would like to have a "take ownership" or "lock post" button in communities, so a mod can prevent a post from being changed

Full description of the idea
We have 3 communities where we buy and sell clothes, post feedback, and investigate scammers. The first 2 are open, the third is screened.

When a scammer is outed, we want to freeze evidence, so that everything can be looked at. The scammer will want to delete evidence. That is why it would be good if a mod could lock posts from being changed. I envision this as either a "lock post" button that a mod can switch on or off and prevents changes, or a "take ownership" button that locks the post (except for mod editing) and labels it as taken over.
An ordered list of benefits
  • Evidence investigation in case of scamming or rules breaking.
An ordered list of problems/issues involved
  • How does one give a post back after using this feature?
  • How will this work when a community has multiple mods?

freezing, community maintenance, § no status, entry management, community moderation
