Title
Content Filtering for LiveJournal Adverts

Short, concise description of the idea
Users given control over the explicitness of the adverts that appear on their Profile/Journal.

Full description of the idea
I have a Plus Account and recently saw an advert on my which disturbed me. The advert is for Buffy the Vampire Slayer issue #8 from tfaw.com and features Faith holding Buffy underwater, drowning her.

My suggestion is that LJ users should be able to apply an 'age rating' filter on the content of adverts they see.
An ordered list of benefits
  • Younger or more sensitive users do not see adverts with images/text that may upset them.
  • The adverts may be more effective if the explicitness can be controlled as well as the areas of interest; users may see more adverts that appeal to them.

An ordered list of problems/issues involved
  • It may not be possible to categorise the content of adverts in this way.

An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation
  • Internet Explorer has an option to filter the explicitness of web page contents, could a similar option be applied when customising the adverts on LiveJournal?
