NO Ads on my User information Page!
Short, concise description of the idea
LJ has added a "feature" which users are not able to disable. There is now a little add on everyone's user information page linking to some virtual gifts which LJ is selling. I asked LJ support how to zap the ad. Suppor tepolied that there was no way to do so and suggested I post my request here.
I have a paid account. I feel I should not have crappy ads on my user info page selling junk I would NOT want as a gift.

An ordered list of benefits
- I (and many others) do not stop paying for LJ.
- I (and many others) do not leave LJ altogether.
- Six Aparet hads gotten some really bad press for zapping people's LJ with no good reason. Making this little ad an option instead of cramming it down our throats would help rebuilt trust in LJ.
An ordered list of problems/issues involved
- LJ might lose some income, but not nearly as much as will be lost if people start leaving LJ in droves.
An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation
- Make a checkbox for the "feature" on the page where I customize my user information page.
