Short, concise description of the idea
It would be nice to have notification for "only comments waiting to be screened" as opposed to simply "all comments" as it appears now.
Full description of the idea
I usually just keep LJ up in a tab and hit refresh so I don't need to be told about most comments, but nonscreened ones don't show up in the count (they only show up when you click through to read all comments on a post). So having "comments to be screened" as a notification option (as opposed to "all comments to my posts")
This might be already in the works with the new notification system, but I'm a "basic" user and as such haven't seen what's there yet so forgive me if it is. It wasn't listed in the description posted to news though.
An ordered list of benefits
- Right now, the only options for viewing comments waiting to be screened are to get notifications of ALL comments or to click through on each individual post from your main page to see what comments are added. This would allow new "yet to be screened" comments on older posts to not get lost, without taxing the mailserver as much as choosing "notify me for all comments" would.
An ordered list of problems/issues involved
- I can't think of any issues other than it being yet another thing to code.
An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation
- I believe the tags (on the comments) required to do this already exist.
