add option to make an entry/item a recurring one

Example: I need to do a particular action once a week.
If I could add it into my to-do list and set that particular entry to show on my to-do list each week instead of having to re-add it each week would rock.
An ordered list of benefits
- save time
- would prevent user from forgetting to add the recurring item to the list
An ordered list of problems/issues involved
- due date feature would need to accomodate days of the week?
An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation
- I don't know how to implement this.
