Title
Per-community additions to spellchecker dictionary
Short, concise description of the idea
Let the owners/moderators of each community set up a list of words, such that when someone posts a message in that community, those words will be considered valid by the spell-checker.
Full description of the idea
See short description.
An ordered list of benefits
For communities where discussions use lots of words that aren't found in the standard dictionary, it would cut down on the number of false positives when spellchecking, so the truly mispelled words won't be as hard to notice.
An ordered list of problems/issues involved
Needs coding changes to the spellchecker.Needs changes to the database schema.Needs a new interface for the web client, for those managing the word list.Needs an extension to the client protocol, for those community owners/moderators who don't use the web client.Only useful posting via the web clinet. (I think)
An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation
Sorry, I don't know enough about LiveJournal internals to suggest anything here.
