Easier Deletion of Memories

Title
Easier Deletion of Memories
Short, concise description of the idea
Allow for a simpler method of deleting memories.
Full description of the idea
Currently, in order to delete memories, you must highlight and delete the memory's Description. Then, you must click the "Submit" button. This is very similar to the previous method of entry deletion, in which you would have to delete the entire entry's text and then click the "Save Journal Entry" button. This has since been replaced by a "Delete Journal Entry" button. I believe a similar method should be used to delete memories.

I do not think that, based on the layout of the Edit Memorable Entry page, a button would be appropriate for this. Instead, I think a dropdown menu (similar to http://www.livejournal.com/accountstatus.bml) would be ideal.

I have made a simple model of what I think would look nicely here: http://aajwind.sytes.net/memory.html (I haven't a clue how one would go about coding this, so the menu doesn't actually do anything, but it illustrates my point).

Update: Based on comments to this entry, the idea has been remolded to contain a button instead of a dropdown. The button will have a JavaScript confirmation window. Check out the model that I originally linked, as it's been changed accordingly.
An ordered list of benefits
  • Easier to delete a mass number of memories
  • Less confusion; the current method is not obvious and would require (a) previous knowledge, (b) experimentation, (c) sifting through the growing number of FAQs, or (d) opening a support request to figure out
  • Cleaner and more logical

  • An ordered list of problems/issues involved
  • Change is bad for some people :p

  • An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation
  • I would imagine it would be very similar to the current "Security" option, just with a different action. I'm not entirely sure though; maybe it would be more complicated (?).
