You should make it possible for people to make events on their calendars that they can invite people or groups to.
Full description of the idea
I think that more people would join livejournal if it was easier to communicate and organize with your friends, and I think that if people could somehow make events on their calenders it would ad a lot to your site. Livejournal is nice to use because it's so simple, and I think you could be a top social networking site if you added just a couple more features like these that makes it easier for users to interact with eachother.
Being able to click on a date on your calender and make an event for that day would be an easy way to ad that feature. I was kind of disappointed that you couldn't- it makes a lot of sense!
Then people could invite friends on that event page, go to their friend's journals and check out their calenders.

- I think any technical issues that may occur are worth having this feature
